Chapter 178 - Advent of Varick Star I

Sometime later...

After getting off the elevator and finding cell AX3, it was finally time for Rin and Mrs. M to part ways.

"So, with our journey coming to an end, Mr. Kurama, is there anything you need before I return to the campus and eventually home?"

"While I would love to say, yes... sadly, no, so until next time, Mrs. M. And may you have a wonderful day!" Rin said as he entered his cell, which automatically closed behind him once he walked inside, and examined his home for the next few days.

"Well then, the same to you, Mr. Kurama, and until next time," Mrs. M replied as she gave Rin one last glance before disappearing and returning to her office.

Simultaneously, as Rin got used to his new temporary home...

Vice President Calvin finished informing the Newtons of the events that transpired today surrounding their son's disappearance.

"Sorry, I can't be of more help, Mr. and Mrs. Newton, but that's pretty much all we know about this unfortunate situation at the moment," Calvin said with a sigh as he left his office and gave the Newtons time to digest everything they heard and saw.

Click. Thud.

"So, do you think there's more to the story, Peanut?" Mrs. Newton tiredly asked as she gazed at her husband with unease, as something felt off about the whole situation.

"Yes... However, this is also making me think about that prophecy your father told us before he vanished, Diamond. Which would make this whole situation a lot easier to digest, but even though that may be true, we won't know until we meet the last person to interact with our son." Mr. Newton said slowly as the image of the Kurama family's heir, Rin Jasper Kurama, appeared in his mind like a virus that would not go away.

After reviewing and analyzing everything, the vice president presented them.

"While true... I still cannot fathom how a student may have the answer to something that not even the school can provide us with," Mrs. Newton uttered skeptically.

"Just have faith and let me do the talking tomorrow as I'm sure he holds the key or at least the location of what we seek." Mr. Newton said as he took his wife's hand and stared into her soul, "We will find him, Diamond, so relax and just place your faith and trust in me."

"Okay," whispered Mrs. Newton quietly as she gave her husband a nod.

"Thank you," replied Mr. Newton with a smile as they both left Forbidden Blood and returned to their hotel room, after informing the vice president that they wanted to meet with Rin Kurama tomorrow to ask him a couple of questions.

"That could be arranged; however, this all hinges upon what the principal says and whether or not the warden of Obsidian Vault will allow you all entry into his establishment," Calvin said with a sigh as he could already imagine the headache he would receive by doing this.

"As long as there's hope, Calvin, there's no price we aren't willing to pay to find our son," Mrs. Newton stated without hesitation or fear, as if there truly was no height or depth she would not go to find her baby boy.

While Mr. Newton just stood beside her and grinned foolishly, as he loved it when his wife was assertive and did not take no for an answer.

"Sigh, well then, let's hope this hope of yours will earn you the approval of the president and the warden," complained Calvin as the Newtons just chuckled before teleporting away.

'Tsk, no rest for the weary,' thought Calvin as this was sure to be a long night of negotiations and future promises.

The Next day...

"Hmm, so to create a Varick star body, one must first create a personalized array that depicts their life and dreams, per se, using either the blood or cores of slain beasts that align with their affinity. Following that, a person would be transported to the Star Realm to undergo a test given by the Star God of the specific constellation they want to use to unlock their Seven Celestial Stars."

"Which, in my case, would be Varick, the Star God of Chaos, whose test is to endure the weight of seven stars while harnessing a special energy known as Solaris to unlock the first of Seven Celestial Stars. However, to speed up the process, even though it isn't recommended, would be to endure the weight of all 49 stars to unlock the entire constellation in an indefinite amount of time."

Rin said to himself as he reviewed the information within the white glyph his uncle gave him for his 15th birthday, which revealed the process of unlocking your Seven Celestial Stars and the test one must take, depending on the constellation they chose.

A hidden realm, one can strive to attain after becoming a Sky Chaser and before becoming a King, during which you are trying to create a Celestial Star. A rune composed of one to seven hollow pockets that resembles miniature translucent beads, which depicts the constellation of the Star God, whose test you want to take to unlock your Seven Celestial Stars.

Additionally, once one begins the test and until it ends, the goal is not only to complete the test but also to utilize Solaris to fill the pockets within the rune. Until it begins to shine with a varying degree of light, a tall tale sign of one's success at creating a Celestial Star, along with how potent the rune engraved onto your body will be.

Ding. Ding. Ding.

"Come and get your breakfast, you scum of the earth!" A robotic officer in all black shouted as the cells of all the prisoners on floor A opened with a click.

"Tsk, so much for peace... but I guess I could use the break from the boredom and the never-ending silence," Rin muttered as he left his cell and got in line with the other inmates as they walked to the dining hall with a squad of officers who watched their every movement like hawks in search of prey.
