Chapter 9 - White Mage Xyn

Today is a normal day like no other for the adventurers of Orario.

Except what awaits adventurers today as they enter and leave the dungeon is a table, a two chairs, a suspicious white robed individual sitting in one of the chairs, and a large cloth banner hanging over the sign.

Come one, come all!

White Mage Xyn, apprentice in the healing arts, offering to heal all minor wounds for the low price of 200v.

Considering the cost of a simple healing potion in Orario is 500v, the price was simply unbelievable if true. People were skeptic at first, but curiosity won out in the end for a weary adventurer covered in cuts and bruises, yet lacked the funds to full pay for a healing potion or even a visit to a professional healer.

"Um..." The young adventurer hesitates before asking, "C-can you really heal wounds like this? For only 200v?"

I nod my head and smile reassuringly at the young adventurer.

"But of course my fellow adventurer!" I said loudly so others may hear. "Those wounds are minor and I would be delighted to prove myself with you as my first customer! As you are the first to approach my humble stand, I wont charge you at all to demonstrate my offer is true!"

The young adventurer nods and seats down in the chair across from me.

"Worry not my friend, for this will only take a second!" I said and hold my open palms towards the adventurer. My captivating aura flares attracting nearby adventurers to the spectacle. A little flashy, but that is how my spells are. At least I don't have to stand still and chant for 5 minutes to cast one.

"Cure!" I shout as my aura finishes flaring and the charging of my spell reaches the peak. A gentle, yet warm light engulfs the adventurer and everyone can watch as the wounds begin to close up and heal at slow pace. Soon enough the spell has ended and the adventurer is completely healed of his injuries.

The adventurer looks at me, his eyes sparkling in awe and takes my hand shaking it furiously before saying, "THANK YOU! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I couldn't afford a potion, nor could I afford going to the clinics! I thought I was going to have to take out a loan at the guild!"

"Hahaha!" I chuckle and shake my head, "Don't mention it my friend! I am merely doing this to improve my healing arts and to make some small change on the side! Fear not, for I'll probably return here for a few hours at the same time, so if you or your friends need some light healing I'll be here!"

He continues to thank me before running off with a smile on his face and fully recovered. I must admit that helping people in their time of need is kind of nice. I'm glad I was reborn in a more lax world and not one of those "Survival of the fittest" or "Strong preys on the weak" type of worlds you see in Chinese cultivation novels, or novels like Naruto where if your not strong, then your probably gonna be cannon fodder.

Here I can grow leisurely, have fun, and hopefully not fuck up the timeline too much.

"Speaking of which, did Bell ever get Liaris Freese?" I ask myself after recalling the encounter the other day. Shrugging my shoulders I put the thought behind me and continue my cheap clinic gig for the remainder of the day.

It didn't take long for the rumor to circulate about a lone healer in training by the name of White Mage Xyn to spread around. Healing minor injuries for new adventurers just getting on their feet, but not having the funds to buy a healing potion. 200v is a far cheaper price to pay than the 500v a potion costs in the shops.

People come with all sorts of minor wounds ranging from simple cuts, burns, and bruises. The price was easier to handle for newcomers and I was making a fair bit of money. Of course there were some more seasoned veterans that tried to threaten me for a free healing, using their familia as a deterrent. Yet they all backed off when they found out a new fact about me.

White Mage Xyn is packing heat!

The muscled familia idiot had to stop-drop-roll to put out the fire that ignited on his crotch and in the end had to pay 1000v to recover some small flesh wounds and burnt testicles.

Of course I had the change up my payment policy after a few people tried to run after a heal, only for them to end up with scorched backsides.

I can quick draw Fire now hehehe!

Now the payment has to be paid forward rather than after the healing services.

I got a few recruitment offers for a Familia or two, but I had politely declined them, saying that for the foreseeable future, I've no interest in joining one. Later on during the day, an adventurer comes up to me, his skin pale, looking like he is on the verge of vomiting.

"Irk!... S'cus me pal." He tries to sound as politely as possible. "C-can you heal food poisoning? Y'see, me girlfriend wanted to try and learn t'cook an' as you can see."

I shake my head and patted the poor fellow on the back with an apologetic smiles, "Sorry buddy, but I can only heal minor surface wounds at the moment. Nothing I can do about food poisoning."

"T-tha.. Irk!... thanks anyway." The man said and walks away holding in whatever is trying to escape back the way it came in. I felt sorry for the guy and can only wish him luck with his relationship with a girl who is terrible at cooking.

A certain large chested lolita shows up after seeing a certain white haired kid off on his trip to the dungeon. Staring at my banner the goddess Hestia asks.

"Only 200v?"

I shrug, "I'm not too scrapped for cash at the moment and I'm only doing this to improve my Cure spell."

Hestia's eyes turn into "$" and she asks, "Please join my familia? Pretty please?" The little goddess asks in the most childish, yet adorable way. Too bad for her it won't work for me.

"No thank you. I apologize but I am a heavy advocate of freedom."

"Drat!" Hestia sulks.

"If it makes you feel any better I turned down offers from both the Loki and Freya familia too!" I said to cheer her up which seemed to work.

"Haha!" Hestia cheers. "Take that Loki-No Boobs and Queen Slut!"

I raise my brow at the comment and think, 'Yikes, what a colorful goddess this loli is.'

After she left I continued to sell my healing services and smiled as I felt the mana cost of Cure dropped little by little, while also healing faster and more severe wounds. Finally after healing my final customer I go to pack up for the evening. The man even offers to buy me a drink but I politely declined.

"Sorry, but I'm not a fan of alcohol." I wave my hand, "Alcohol can ruin your brain cells, affect your motor skills, possibly affect your boob growth *lie*.

Somewhere in Orario a certain red headed goddess can be seen spraying her drink out suddenly. Afterwards she is then seen rubbing her chest and frowning.

"Maybe I should stop drinking..." Loki says before shaking her head, "nah!"

Meanwhile....

After gathering my earnings I head out to the Hostess of Fertility to have dinner. Like usual I order the special and what they serve me is beyond my expectations.

"Pizza?" I stare down at the dish before tearing off a slice and devouring it, "How can I not be suspicious now?"
