Chapter 251 - A match made in heaven

At the police station, it was confirmed that Nina and Levi were unaware of what had happened in the dressing room through Nina's livestream.

Although there was no CCTV inside the dressing room, cameras in the hallway showed clearly that the two never went in.

The footage did show Tiffany entering the room. A few minutes later, she was seen leaving. Shortly after she turned the corner, four people entered the room.

They were most likely members of the crowd who had rushed in uninvited, or relatives of students she had previously bullied.

Just as they were leaving the police station, Nina received a message from a classmate who had followed the ambulance to the hospital. Rita had suffered a miscarriage.

"What a crazy day," Nina muttered under her breath. "A grand wedding turned into a disaster. Look, it's already trending online."

Yeri leaned over to glance at Nina's phone.

"Tiffany brought this on herself," Levi said. "She never took the bullying case seriously. Livestreaming such a high-profile wedding was the same as provoking those people."

Yeri nodded as they headed to a nearby restaurant.

Since the wedding had ended before the banquet, both Nina and Levi were starving.

"I think Rita's miscarriage happened because those people mistook her for the bride and got beaten," Nina said. "But how did she end up wearing a wedding dress in the first place?"

"She must have put it on herself," Yeri replied.

From watching the video, it seemed likely that Marco had led Rita to the dressing room, coaxing her to wait there so they could talk after the ceremony.

Rita must have seen the spare wedding dress and been tempted to try it on, unaware of the chaos unfolding outside.

In the end, that decision became her downfall.

In Yeri's eyes, Tiffany was terrible, but Rita was no better. The bullying case had never involved Tiffany alone. Rita and Cherry had been just as guilty.

It was a pity that none of them had considered the consequences of their actions, acting recklessly without regard for their future.

Yeri truly could not understand what Rita and Cherry saw in Marco Fabian. If it was his looks, he was only slightly above average at best. If it was his status, was he really worth the sacrifice?

Tiffany, that brain-dead woman, had rushed into marriage with a man who cheated on her, not with one, but with two of her closest friends.

While Rita had willingly gotten herself pregnant, fully aware that the man was about to marry someone else.

And Marco, with his corrupt values, clearly treated women as nothing more than toys.

If anything, it was almost a blessing that the three of them harmed each other and left the innocent out of it.

"Nina, be careful these days," Levi warned. "Don't leave campus alone. That Marco Fabian might try something."

Nina frowned. "Who's afraid of him? I could take on ten of him, as long as there are no weapons involved."

Yeri was also worried. After all, the one Tiffany and possibly also Marco held the deepest grudge against was her.

After the three of them parted ways, she sent Shin a message, explaining what had happened at the wedding and asking him for a favor. She wanted him to send people to discreetly protect her two friends.

Shin replied almost immediately. He agreed, but added that Marco Fabian would not have the time or freedom to cause any more trouble.

Just as Yeri was wondering what he meant, he sent a follow-up message. The Rhian and Fabian families' business rivals were making drastic moves.

It turned out that when Yeri had once mentioned wanting those two families tied together, Shin had quietly pulled some strings. He had persuaded their rivals to temporarily delay their plans.

That delay gave both families false hope. Believing their business crisis had been resolved as they shifted all their attention to preparing the grand wedding.

Yeri felt relieved.

Aside from the pressure from those business rivals, the matter involving Tiffany and Rita would keep Marco busy and he would have no time to cause trouble for Nina and Levi.

Moreover, without her former status and influence, Tiffany's bullying case would likely reach a verdict soon.

Sure enough, when Yeri scrolled through social media, the scandalous wedding had shot straight to the top of the trending list.

Two people with chaotic private lives, combined with the shocking scene at the ceremony, made the drama irresistible to netizens.

Before, many had found it outrageous that a bully like Tiffany could marry a decent, wealthy second-generation heir like Marco Fabian.

Now, with Marco's own scandals exposed, people were openly mocking them.

Sarcastic "blessings" flooded the comments, thanking the two for getting together quickly so they would not harm anyone else, and calling them a match made in heaven.

Rita did not escape scrutiny either.

Yeri clicked on one viral video. On the screen was a woman who looked pale and exhausted, yet her eyes burned with anger and a fierce sense of justice toward the Fabian family.

She introduced herself as the daughter of a Fabian family maid. She exposed how she had fallen victim to Marco's schemes and had been forced into a relationship with him.

Yeri had a strong feeling that this woman was the one who had released the video and photos during the wedding. However, the matter had nothing to do with her.

Yeri was about to put her phone down when another message arrived.

[I have something important to tell you about Shin Keir. If you don't hear me out now, you might regret it once you're married to him.]

Yeri's brows furrowed deeply.

She had not saved the number, but after receiving repeated messages asking to meet, she knew who it was.

Xian Song.

Could this be a trap? She did not know the full details, but she was aware that the Song and Keir families were not on good terms.

What could he possibly know about Shin Keir?

In the end, she chose to ignore the message and went to the veterinary hospital where Carpet was staying.

The vet advised her not to linger too long, warning that overexcitement could cause his wounds to reopen.

Seeing that Carpet was recovering well, Yeri felt reassured and returned to the penthouse.

---

When she arrived, she found Saeki Jie already there.

Before she could greet him, something soft brushed against her ankle.

"Sister-in-law, you're here!" Saeki said cheerfully, studying her face. "You really got lucky this time. I heard Madam Nafplion is now being held at a psychiatric hospital."

Yeri looked down at the red toy poodle at her feet, then back at Saeki. "Yeah… and this is…?"

"Oh, this is Lulu!" Saeki proudly introduced the dog. "You might not know this, but she's a fashion icon. I figured you'd be sad without your dog around, so I'm letting you borrow her for now."

Yeri "..."

When had she ever said she would be sad without a dog?

Still, at least she had finally met the dog Saeki was always boasting about.

"By the way," Saeki continued, "I finally got solid results from the investigation. And let me tell you, it's absolutely mind-blowing."

Yeri looked at him, confused. "Investigation?"

Saeki gestured for her to sit in the living room. Several documents were laid out neatly on the table.

"Take a look," he said smugly. "I told you it would be tricky since it happened years ago, but of course, I'm the best. What can't I dig up?"

Yeri took the file. As she opened it, her eyes landed on the bold title printed across the page:

Investigation Results of Zahn Neri's Drugging Incident

Her heart skipped a beat. Yeri suddenly felt tense as she lifted her gaze and met Saeki Jie's eyes.

She was not the person directly involved, yet Yeri still felt tense.

"Actually, we were at the banquet that night," Saeki explained. "It was held for one of the Neri elders. I drank too much and don't remember most of what happened. I only found out the next day that the guests had discovered Zahn and Lianna in a compromising situation in one of the rooms."

"Then the rumor about Sister Lianna drugging Doctor Neri?" Yeri asked quietly.

Saeki fell silent for a moment before sighing. "It was her own father who nailed her to the pillar of shame."

Yeri continued reading the documents. The more she read, the colder her expression became.

[ Guest Statements:

That night, Lianna's father anxiously asked around the banquet hall, looking for his daughter.

Several guests helped him search.

A waiter confirmed that he had seen Lianna enter one of the guest rooms.

A group went to check and found the two of them buried under a blanket, clothes scattered on the floor.

Lianna's father was the first to react. He shouted furiously, publicly scolding his daughter for her disgraceful behavior.

"What have you done? I told you to abandon such malicious schemes, yet you still went behind my back and did it!"

These statements were corroborated by multiple guests present at the scene.

Lianna appeared dazed, as if she had just woken up, only to be slapped hard by her father. ]

"It was mainly because of her father's words that everyone started connecting the dots," Saeki said.

"They assumed Lianna couldn't wait to marry him, and since Zahn trusted her, she could easily slip an aphrodisiac into his wine and lure him into the room. But honestly, it doesn't make sense." He shrugged and scratched his nose. "They were already dating. There was no reason for her to drug him just to sleep together, right?"

"The medicine was bought by Sister Lianna?" Yeri asked, stunned.

"Yes," Saeki nodded, regret clear in his voice. "That fact made her look completely guilty and left her no room to deny it. But I suspect Lianna was drugged as well. According to the investigation, she was in a daze and had no chance to defend herself while her father was ranting nonstop, then Madam Neri arrived, turning the whole scene even more chaotic."

Yeri flipped to the last page. Her fingers trembled slightly as she read, a chill settling deep in her chest.
