Looking down at the data terminal that was plugged in, the lights around the slot had changed from a cerulean to a bright green.
Tian Qingfeng grabbed his data terminal and disconnected it from the capsule.
Looking around, he saw a button situated on the capsule's left wall. Pressing it caused the capsule to depressurize with a hiss as the frosted-glass dome lifted.
Getting out of the capsule, he looked around and saw some of his classmates getting out of the capsules.
Notably, Fei Baixue, Fu Lihua, Yu Ling, Su Ling, Hong Wuhao, Tang Qixia, Wang Zhengyi, Hong Ling, Lu Tai, and Chen Zhiyu were getting out of the capsules. The rest of the capsules were still glowing a dull shade of cyan.
Walking over to where the teacher was standing, he stood next to his friends.
"Hey, what score'd you get?" Chen Zhiyu asked Tian Qingfeng and Lu Tai as they arrived. "I got an A minus."
"Show off," Lu Tai muttered.
"So what's your score?" Chen Zhiyu pushed
"... plus," Lu Tai murmured
"What was your score? I didn't quite hear it."
"B plus you jag. Now, lay off."
Chen Zhiyu chuckled as he stopped pestering Lu Tai.
"What about you, old Tian?" Chen Zhiyu turned towards Tian Qingfeng
"A plus," Tian Qingfeng said with a wide grin on his face. One hand held the data terminal showing them, while his other hand was extended, with two fingers in a peace sign.

"That's our boy.
"Hey, how'd you think our class rep will do?"
"Fei Baixue?" Lu Tai intoned, "She'll probably top the charts like always, no?"
"Hey, old Tian, why don't you go over and ask?" Chen Zhiyu urged
"Do you guys really want to know that badly?" Tian Qingfeng questioned
Both of them nodded their heads.
"Fine," Tian Qingfeng said with an exasperated sigh, "I'll be right back."
Looking around, he saw Fei Baixue talking with her girl friends near the other end of the walkway.
While he was walking over, Fei Baixue and the girls seemed to have noticed him coming over.
Fei Baixue's cheeks seem to redden as the girls poke and prod her. They seemed to stop as Tian Qingfeng drew near. Turning their heads, all four of them looked at Tian Qingfeng as he approached.
The other three continued to tease Fei Baixue as he approached.
"Ooh, Qingfeng is here. Hey Qingfeng, do you guys need some privacy?"
"No, right here's fine. Baixue, would you mind if I asked you a question? You don't need to answer if you don't want to."
"Sure, what do you need?"
"The boys," Tian Qingfeng said as he pointed behind him with his thumb, "wanted to know what score you got in the combat test."
Tilting her head, Fei Baixue and the girls looked behind Tian Qingfeng to see Chen Zhiyu and Lu Tai waving at them with a goofy grin on their faces.
Focusing back on Tian Qingfeng, she said, "Sure, my combat rating was A plus."
"Congrats," Tian Qingfeng said with a bright smile on his face.
"Thanks," Fei Baixue replied in a quiet voice.
She lowered her head, blushing.
"Whelp, I'm gonna head back. See you in class." Tian Qingfeng said
"Yep, see you."
As Tian Qingfeng turned around and headed back over to his friends, he seemed to hear the other girls teasing Fei Baixue.
When he reached Chen Zhiyu, he impatiently asked, "Well, what score did she get?"
"It's the expected score, A plus."
"Told you so," Lu Tai nudged Chen Zhiyu
"Yeah, yeah." Chen Zhiyu mumbled
While all this was happening, the rest of the class had managed to finish the combat assessment and were getting out of the capsules.
Once everyone reached the walkway beside the capsules, teacher Su began to instruct the class.
"Since everyone has finished the test, we're now going to submit the scores to the database. Let's go."
They walked down the edge of the gym and reached the exit, where a receptionist, upon noticing their approach, input some commands on her computer.
Once they approached the exit, the machine on the side opened and extended several slots. Everyone then plugged in the data terminal that they were using for this test into the machine. The extended slots then retracted back into the machine, and after a while, the receptionist gave the OK to teacher Su to indicate that everything was good.
After returning to their classroom, Miss Su addressed the class.
"Although the school-wide ranking is not ready yet, the class-wide rankings are currently available.
"Do you guys want to see how your fellow students did on the test?"
"Yes," the class chorused
Pressing a button on the instructor's table, a holographic screen was once again projected. She grabbed and threw the holo screen onto the wall-sized screen behind her, making it appear on the screen.
On the screen, a list appeared, ranking all the students in this class from 1 to 20.
"Now, for those who are at the bottom, don't be disappointed. You are still part of the elite class.
"And for those topping the ranking, don't be too proud as those below you can still catch up."
Amidst the cheers, jeers, and chatter of the class, Tian Qingfeng looked at the class rankings.
