This made Angel wonder if Shock's diary might not be in the cellar after all, but outside? Or perhaps the cellar environment they were currently in was very special?
Angel did not believe that he or Luigi had a "magnet for accidents" trait, where trouble follows them wherever they go.

If it wasn't the accident magnet trait, why can others easily find the diary while they find it difficult?
Moreover, according to normal circumstances, even if Shock's diary is not placed in an obvious spot, it would still be placed somewhere significant, as if the diary's existence is meant for those who enter to see it.
But this cellar, neither has an obvious spot nor a significant place, where could the diary be hidden?
