Sometimes, being a troublemaker has its perks.
Take Bai Fendou, for example. His reputation is far from stellar. Besides chasing widows, his most infamous claim to fame is being a "man-killer," having already incapacitated three men.
But as the saying goes, "the wicked are tormented by the wicked." He too ended up being incapacitated.
Now, his father has gotten into trouble, and it feels like the family is cursed with bad luck.
Despite his bad reputation, he's had such a streak of misfortune that when he went to the factory to make a scene, they actually resolved his issue. Why? Because if a decent person had made the same complaints, it might not have worked. But with a troublemaker like Bai Fendou, the effect is quite different. The factory leaders didn't want to cross him, given how reckless he is—who knows what he might do? Moreover, although there are rumors about Old Man Bai, without concrete evidence, they couldn't just fire him.
