Chapter 290 - Quest talk

Breakfast was almost finished when Viccy came down, freshly washed up and with a small frown on her face. I could tell that the experiment that she had been working on did not give her what she thought it would. That, or it was not quite what she was hoping for. Either of the two was fine to her in the end. I could see her considering the results, but instead of brooding over them, she logged in.

After a quick bath, she came down the stairs and found herself in the kitchen where everyone almost finished breakfast. Food was set aside for her, and she picked it up and started to eat as we finally stopped talking about random topics.

"So about the quest," I said as the conversation died down, "You found a dead drop location, so what is your plan for it?" I asked, wondering what they planned to do about it.

Gloom Bloom was the first to speak up, "Starting today, we need to keep our eyes on the location," She said with a sigh, "Honestly, I am not happy about it, but the middleman also said there was an enchantment that would break if we tried to look at the package too."

"We should confirm first if there is a package there," I spoke up, freezing Gloom for a moment, but then she chuckled.

"That is a great point, no point in watching a packageless drop point," Gloom replied, and the others nodded along.

"So, one of us needs to watch the package," Iona said.

"Yeah, I think only one or two of us need to watch the package at a time," Naughty Bunny said, joining in, and I watched as Fidel nodded, which still had no left her shell.

Thinking about it, Fidel was coming out of her shyness, at least during sex, but she still had problems speaking up for herself. She would usually follow others' arrangements without issues, and I wondered if she could express herself at least sometimes outside the bedroom.

"I think two shifts at least, maybe three, so we can not make ourselves out to be too obvious?" Iona added, leaning back in her chair. I could tell that she did not even like the thought of sitting there and watching a place, "but we do need to ensure we are even watching for something. Another question, though," The Dragonic woman said her voice turning deadly serious, "What are we doing with them once we see who picks it up, if it is there?"

All of us went silent, and I checked the updated quest again.

Hidden Group Quest: The Sewer Necromancer

On your clean-up of the sewers, you ran into a laboratory of a Necromancer that seems to be raising a larger and larger undead army. After cleaning out the lab and killing all the undead inside, there was a note you found that names an Inn, but you do not know where the Inn is.

Your informant has found the location of the Sewer Inn, but, in the process, has been captured. They have only found the Sewer Inn's location and have found nothing else.

You have invaded the Sewer Inn with the help of the authorities, who granted you a small amount of time to find your Informant and any clues for the Necromancer.

You have found a clue from a middleman in the Sewer Inn in exchange for being able to escape the Raid from the Guards. The Clue is a dead-drop location that the man uses to drop off ingredients and a pickup location for them.

After reporting this Necromancer to the guild, they have hired you to hunt down this Necromancer and capture them alive or dead.

Rewards: Adventurer's Guild Reputation, ?????, ??????, 100g if captured alive or 75g if brought in dead.

I realized something as I was looking at the quest, "Um guys," I said gathering their attention and I continued after a moment, "It says in the quest, that it was a place to pick up and drop off ingredients, meaning, we might be able to find the supplier too," I told them bluntly and the ladies all started to flush including Fidel. "If we find the supplier, we might be able to get more information about the necromancer and how they pay. Or if they do it for the necromancer, they might do it for others, too." I finished.

Viccy smacked her own forehead and sighed. "I cannot fucking believe I did not think about that," She said, "We might even find more large bounties by finding the supplier and following them to other dead drops they might do. Although," She paused and pinched the bridge of her nose. "This will be slow, this will be a dredge, and if there is no dead drop, that means the first person we will see is the Supplier and the second will be the Necromancer," Viccy said slowly, her brain working on the problem.

Suddenly, a notification hit us.

Hidden Group Quest: Black Market Supplier

The Sewer Necromancer has a supplier, and you realize that if this supplier is willing to supply such a vile person, they may be supplying others of a similar nature.

Investigate the Alchemic Supplier.

"Well, that is vague," Naughty Bunny said loudly, breaking the silence as our deduction somehow got us a quest, and I wondered how the mechanics worked.

"Well, now things have gotten even more questionable," I said, "I also need to go see the Lady I have been working for. I have been gone longer than I was supposed to be, and I know I will probably be punished for it." I told them bluntly.

I saw a couple sigh, and I learned back before I finally got up my legs now more firmly underme as I moved. "I hate to say it, but this part of the quest is on you, ladies. I have to see if I still have a job with the Lady."

My words filled the room as I headed upstairs, only to pause and remember that my wardrobe followed me around. I flushed, and I sighed. I could not believe how I messed that up. I felt embarrassment even more surge through me, and I changed into a dress from my wardrobe before walking back downstairs.

"Alright, Gloom and Fidel will do the nightwatches, Iona, Naughty Bunny, and I will rotate through the day," Viccy announced, taking the lead. "We should make sure to have at least two sets of eyes watching not only the dead drop, but each other while watching the place. Any objections?"

I reached the door and heard no objections, "You all have a great day, I will be back probably tonight," I told them departing, and I heard a chorus of goodbyes before I closed the door and departed out to the streets and headed toward Lady Yancy's tower. My heels clicking on the way there, my mind was wandering if I would be punished for being absent so long.
