The old father had to catch his breath in the chess room, while Uncle Fu pointed to the dishes that were already prepared and just waiting to be cooked, laughing merrily, "All prepared, all prepared, we're just waiting to toast our son-in-law tonight!"
Ye Jian looked at the dishes waiting to go into the pot, ten dishes, symbolizing perfection.
"Uncle Fu, why do you know that my dad nodded when I said I wanted to keep Little Six for dinner?" Ye Jian asked Uncle Fu. "Does keeping someone for a meal have a special meaning?"
"In Old Man Xia's hometown customs, on the first day of the lunar month, the meal is only for the closest members of the family. These are old rules, and you may not be very clear about them, but Little Six, he's very aware of them in his heart."
Uncle Fu once again felt that Little Six from the Xia family was on the right path and was thoughtful. To marry Ye Jian, he even made sure to find out about the old rules of Old Man Xia's side.
