Every day, the place is packed with people, cramped and disorderly, which prompted the current government to allocate police forces to maintain order and ensure the normal operation of the train station as well as the safety of citizens and tourists.
However, for a city like Melbourne where everyone carries a gun, these measures are merely a drop in the bucket and far from sufficient. Violent incidents are frequent, and bloodshed continues unabated. Seeing little effectiveness, authorities later turn a blind eye, allowing things to take their own course, with some violent cases left unresolved.
