Although it was expected, given their superiority over the other nations, Luna was still struck by the ease with which they farmed the Peasant and Soldier-class beings from the void.
"At this rate, our soldiers will have leveled up beyond 50, and they still won't have come close to reaching our walls," Sura said. She maintained her vigilance but had relaxed somewhat.
How could she not? Even after the landmines were exhausted, they still had their Mage Army. It should be noted that they were the only nation with such advantages. Not only could they raise Mages, but they also possessed the remnants of the Elven race. The
This was because almost everyone initially chose to be either a Strength-Vitality or Strength-Agility type. Those who were initially enticed by the thought of being Mages were disappointed to find they did not learn skills automatically, like in MMORPGs. These individuals were quickly slaughtered by the zombies.
Unless one had a group willing to provide protection and power-leveling, being a Mage at the onset of this new world was an exercise in futility. Of course, there were exceptions: sometimes an attractive person chose to become a Mage and found admirers willing to help. The rarest case was when someone had the right spark of inspiration at the perfect moment to comprehend an Anito through a mixture of pure chance and talent.
While the

"Apollo! We need reinforcements on the western wall!" Goose, the closest friend of the
This was because they did not have nearly enough Mages to keep the Peasants at bay. Moreover, they were in a more urban setting without the natural choke points provided by separated islands, as in the Philippines. Luckily, they did not have to worry much about the south, as there was only water there; most aquatic mutant beasts had been killed or were wary of approaching the coastline.
"I'm sending reinforcements, Goose! Hold on as long as you can! Sooner or later, we'll gain enough levels to make this easier!" Apollo replied.
The other nations in America were experiencing the same difficulties and clinging to the same hope. They were trying to minimize losses until they could level up sufficiently from the Peasants and Soldiers.
Thankfully, this first wave, which was merely probing their strengths, contained millions of Peasants to help them gain levels. The Generals of the Void did not wish to risk death by attacking directly. After all, they had no idea what hidden traps might await them. They were content to let the Peasants wear down the various nations.
Those who efficiently cycled their armies would emerge stronger from this initial battle. Those who did not would see their numbers dwindle bit by bit.
"It's a good thing we managed to regain the trust of the Dark Elves," Apollo communicated to Goose.
"Even better that we followed their suggestion to relocate here to Galveston. I can't imagine having to defend four walls," Goose replied.
Once they saw the signs of the next phase, Apollo personally visited the Dark Elves to apologize. To show his sincerity, he hunted down the remnants of the racist men and women who had offended the Elves and allowed the Elves to deal with them as they saw fit. The Elves, realizing they would be hard-pressed to defend themselves alone, agreed.
They liked Apollo, which made negotiations easier, especially after learning that the African-American people had experienced a similar degree of racism as they had in their previous world.

"Jiang Zihao! How many more must die? If we don't work together, we'll suffer heavy losses!" The Chinese government's leaders tried to trigger the young university student's guilty conscience, but to no avail.
"Hmph! Even if I wanted to, my Giant friends refuse. So why should I team up with you when I have such honest and strong friends who would never betray me?" Having said his piece, Zihao cut the line, allowing no time for a rebuttal.
"DAMN THAT ZIHAO!" The high-ranking official smashed the device he was using on the ground.
With the Giants' help, Zihao and his nation were faring much better than the officials. Not only that, but the blood their new friends willingly donated strengthened them, along with the body-refining techniques they learned. The young leader himself might already be capable of taking on a level 70 General and surviving with his limbs intact. He used this opportunity to level up, having no idea what else was in store.
None of them did, including Luna himself. Their previous knowledge of the other races was no longer entirely reliable after discovering that events in this world differed somewhat from theirs. The pace was faster.
This was especially true now. Based on the other races' prior knowledge, they would not have known there were actually level 70 Generals. Thankfully, these so-called Generals were not very proficient in warfare. They had been appointed merely because they were the strongest available. Furthermore, their numbers were limited. And now, with Ines taking up a spot, one of the other Generals assigned to attack Israel had been blocked from entering, leaving the troops in that area disorganized.
Around the world, however, the situation for the stronger nations was similar to that of Jiang Zihao and Apollo Creed. They had the highest chance of survival, especially when smaller nations decided to bolster their forces.
The smaller nations that were too stubborn would not live past a few days.
As for the crazy lone wolves, not being in a nation meant there was no anchor for the portals to target. At the same time, they missed out on a great deal of potential EXP. The Peasants and Soldiers were not completely mindless like previous zombies; they stayed together constantly and could not be picked off individually.
Given their relatively high levels, any lone wolf who tested their luck would end up surrounded and ripped to shreds.
Somewhere near the western walls of the
"Hmm... This group has quite a lot of strong individuals. Especially that man and the ones surrounding him. I have a feeling that if I get within a certain radius, they will definitely sense me. Sigh. My curiosity will be the death of me, but I really wish to see how these enemies of ours live. Ugh! The chance to experience a different culture. Should I seize it?" Ines was well aware that if her identity were discovered, she would be in grave danger. She took a ring from her storage and placed it on her right ring finger.
"This should make them think I'm only level 50. Ines, you truly are a resourceful genius!" She placed her hands on her hips and raised her chin, quite proud of herself. She had bought the ring on a whim at a lower-class auction house while strolling through the middle- and low-class districts.
This was something she enjoyed. She loved seeing and experiencing how other people lived. She would usually disguise herself or use stealth to observe the lives of the poor, the middle class, and even the rich. Stealth skills were even rarer in the Void. She had received the skill as one of her innate abilities. The only other person who could do it was her father, but that was only because he was far ahead of everyone else.
"WHO? Who let her out of their sight? I will have your heads! If anything happens to her, I am done for sure!" General Vizicsacsi had evidently just discovered that the willful Princess of the Void was missing. After all, Ines's stealth skill was not publicly known.
"FARM! FARM! FARM!" The men and women of the
Unfortunately, the same could not be said for the other nations. Casualties soon began piling up as their melee soldiers eventually had to fight when their Mages ran out of mana. Their sharpshooters were effective at picking off Peasants one by one, but the lack of Area-of-Effect skills made it difficult to keep the armies of the Void at bay.
