"Is that so? Then sure." So I followed him, I don't know where is it either way. As we goes outside of Klein places, we met an uncle with a short blonde hair, he is around 40 years old I think. Seeing Klein walking outside he greet us.
"Hey, Klein." As he said those, he goes over to us.
"Ah, Arnold. Hmm, have you go to your farm?" With a warm smile Klein, greet him back.
"Yes, I already go there. I just come back from there after all. Where are you going? I haven't seen you this past 2 days."
"Indeed, well I just pick up some troublesome guys two days ago after all. And right now I am guiding that troublesome guy to the chief house." He said while pointing his thumb to me. Oi, he is bad mouthing me, right? Who is troublesome guys! It not like I wanted to be stranded near the river!
"And who is he?"
"Hmm, the troublesome guy that I talked about. I found him stranded near the river 2 days ago. Because couple of things he gonna stayed for a year."
"Oh, so that what happened. Hello there, I am Arnold the one who got house right there. How are you feeling?" He said those while pointing the house that on the right side of Klein home. Afterwards he wiped his hand on his pant, then he offering a handshake to me.
"Good evening mister Arnold, my name is Charavgi Evlogia. It nice to see you, and also I am already feeling great." I said with polite tone, as I shake his hand.
"Hahaha, you're polite youngsters, but just called me Arnold, it seems weird to hear someone calling me with mister as a suffix."
"Aahh, alright then mis– I mean Arnold." While you think it weird being called mister, but in my country before, it was weird if someone younger called a senior by 20 years just by their names. I should try to adapting this world common sense.
"Well, since you guys still got another business, we should catch up later on. And Klein, come to the village Bar, once in a while. The villagers kinda miss you, when you go there don't forget to tell me. So we can drink together."
"Hahaha, no problems Arnold. Let's go drinking then the day after tomorrow, after I come back from hunting." Reply Klein, afterwards we split up until Arnold house, then we goes to the village center. Klein home is located on the edges near the west gate, while the village chief house is in front of the village center.
When I ask why do you build your home at the edge, he said 'well I am a Hunter it much more convenient if I am near the gate. Also I am not like the chief that need to watch and help all the work on the village, so there's no need for me to build my home at the heart of the village. And what more convenient is the butcher is only two house after mine! Other then that, sometimes the village guards ask me for their help I guess. But well, there only 37 family here anyway, so even if I am near the west gate, it isn't like I need to walk 1 hour just to reach East gate.'
When I heard those, that seems a good reason to build your house there. Well, this village name is Vahl. The broad field that I seen before was the village center, it a circular field, and the other house were build surrounding it in a circular arrangements with 3 main street, going through west gate, East gate, and southeast. Even tho, it called gate, it only made of wood that around 4 m tall, so do the wall surrounding the village. If you wondering about why it only 3 gates, it seem on the Northside there dangerous area called Vahl Mountain. Yep, it because of that mountain the village named Vahl, since it the nearest village from there. And on the Southwest there Killiki Forest. That why the gate is only on the safest direction. Well back to the overall condition of the villageas Klein said, this village is only 500m in diameter. Also as we walk the things that really obvious for me is the villagers eyes! I can heard and see them pointing at me like looking a rare animal. Sobs... Well they only said things like 'who is that?' 'he got a black hair.' or 'ah, the stranded guy!'. Danyuummmmm, I can understand the first one or the second one, since I am new and no one got black hair around here. But it seems the last one is because they met with Klein as he drag me from the river side.
... Seems like I am quite popular in this village, as a stranded man. Not to long, only 10-15 min by walking slowly, we arrive in front of the village center. It diameter is around 30m I guess, and from here the village chief house is the one nearest with it and the biggest one! So it pretty obvious which one is his house, maybe the building width around 15m?
"Woah, it broad." I said in amazement. How much money it took to make this kind of wooden house in Earth? No, it a villa! While I am thinking stupid things like that Klein explaining to me.
"Hahaha, the village chief house is also used as a meeting place when we planning something for the village. Also when there adventurer, Traveller, merchant or Noble coming through our village, his house also used as their place for the night. That is why the villagers build his house much bigger since it become like the village face."
After saying that, he goes over to the door and knock it three times. Hmm is it also a culture here to knock door three times? Then from inside there a footsteps sound, that kinda hasty. That stopping behind the door, before opening the door slowly. There a girl peeking between the gap, from her face I think she is around 15-16 years old. After seeing Klein she open the door fully, she got a wavy brown hair that goes until her shoulder, a thin eyebrows, navy blue eyes, also a cute small nose and mouth. Her height around 170 since her sight is around Klein chin, with a proposional body, that ain't fat nor slim. There also few flakes on her face, but I guess it normal since this world have medieval age setting. I'll be shocked if she got a smooth skin with this world technology... But there also magic, can you do a skin care with magic? I wonder.
"Ooo, it Klein~ what kind of business that you come here Klein?" Ask the girl happily. I can smell something! She look really happy seeing Klein.
"Evening Grace, well I got some business with village chief." Seems like her name is Grace.
"Eh, with Grandpa?" She look disappointed.
"Yes, is he home?"
"Enn, grandpa is home." Then her sight goes to me. "By the way, who is that guy behind you?"
"Ah, he is the one that need to meet the chief." Explain Klein
"Good evening, my name is Charavgi Evlogia." I said.
"Oooo, evening~ I am Grace. Are you a noble?"
"Nah, he ain't a noble, it normal for people in his country to have a last name." Cut Klein, I only nod and say "yes"
"Is that so? Then hold on for few minutes, I'll called grandpa. Ah please do made yourself at home." After saying that, she run through the house. "GRANDPA, KLEIN WANT TO MEET YOU!"
... And she shouting, she is really energetic.
"Hahhahaha, that brat never change." Said Klein as he move to a sofa in that room.
"Aaa.. she is really energetic."
This room seems to be the living room or maybe the meeting place that Klein said beforehand. From my observation the room is around 100m². Seems like the living place for the chief is indeed used for utilities of the village. On the right side there a gorgeous tea table set, and few sofa near the fire place. And surrounding the room is chairs. Yep, I am completely convinced now, the reason for why the village chief house is so big is like what Klein said. At first I thought he embezzled some tax, but seems like he wasn't. After seeing around the room, I goes sit beside Klein.
"You doesn't seems amazed seeing the room." Said Klein as I sit down.
"Aaa, well I already assuming something like this when I heard your explanation. But well I didn't expect the village chief really used his house fully for the villager utilities."
"Oh, you're indeed sharp. Indeed, this room also used for the villager on winter, those that doesn't have fireplace in their home or their home is destroyed can used this place. That why it indeed spacious."
Eee, I never thought it like that. I thought all the house in the village was like Klein's home.
"Mmm... He is a good village chief then." We continue chatting while waiting for the chief. Not too long, a grandpa come into the room. I am sure he is the village chief. He also got a wavy hair, and also he got a long beard! His hair color already goes grey tho, but his face shape, and eyes is the same as Grace. From what I know from Klein the village chief is 57 years old. He still look healthy and energetic tho. He followed by Grace that somehow pouting. Did something happen?
"Ohohoho, good evening Klein." He look happy when seeing Klein, but there a way smile on his face! And Grace seems uncomfortable, when he look at me he observing me carefully. "And who are you?"
"Evening chief, he is Charavgi Evlogia, the guy that I found stranded 2 days ago." Explain Klein.
"Good evening, my name is Charavgi Evlogia. It nice to see you." I immediately goes standing as I introduced myself, even tho Klein already introducing me.
"So you're that guy whose Klein save. My name is Rocthic, I am the village chief in this village. And the girl standing beside me, which shouting disgracefully, is my granddaughter Grace. But do take a note she isn't graceful as her name." Explain him, while emphasize the shouting part, and the grace play word. Hahahaha... So that why Grace is pouting, seems like she got preaching and now her own grandfather made her name as a play word.
"Uuuu!! I already introducing my name grandpa! And what with that!"
"See that, how ungraceful of her." Her grandfather retort her, with a meaningful smile. Yep, I hope you can rest in peace tonight Grace. Then without giving Grace tantrum another glance the chief goes over the sofa in front of us then looking at Klein.
"Well then Klein, what business do you have with me?"
"Ahhh, it about this guy, chief. He want to stayed for a year, since he can't reach in time for his job registration because he got drifted away till our village." With that been said, Klein starting to explaining my problems... That basically a lie... Ughh... I feel more guilty.... Thank you very much Klein... I feel like crying, I definitely will fall in love with him if I am a girl. But meh moe is the truth! Glasses girl is the way! While I am still thinking idiotic thought Klein already done explaining.
"Oh, so he won't make it in time if he goes right now."
"That is so, and what more he lost all of his belongings."
"I understand if that kind of thing happened, he indeed better to stayed here. But can I ask a question?" He look to me, and I am back from my stupid thought.
"Sure, village chief."
"What kind of job that you gonna take? This is important so I can give you a role for the village " ah, seems like there is no free food in this world too. I am allowed to live here, but I need to do some work.
"Ah, I plan to register as a teacher before I got stranded here, I was on my way to Regaia Royal University." He surprised when hearing me.

... Why is this kind of questions keep repeating? Is that university really that great? Or I guess it combination between that and my last name. So I explaining it to village chief like when Klein ask me.
"Ohohoho, so it my misunderstanding. Alright then I allowed you to live here until the next registration."
Afterwards we chat about a small things until night come knocking.
