Davis could only scratch his head and bring Jillian Hayden to her favorite bed yet again.
He genuinely pitied her as she was caught between a war of the giants and also got abandoned by her family, even though they said that they didn't abandon her. Anyone with a brain cell could tell that they were just using her at this point, but it didn't seem like her parents themselves were able to realize this.
He didn't know if their ignorance was the work of fate or just their instinct to survive.
After all, there were many cases of parents realizing their mistakes later on in life.
He also couldn't imagine what his own daughters would feel like if he were to make a decision like that one day. It doesn't necessarily have to be selling them off, but just as obvious as prioritizing his wives over them. They would be shattered, just like Jillian Hayden.
However, as much as he felt pity for her, he was also unapologetically basking in her emotions like a soul devourer.
