Yue'er didn't take Xiao Junheng's suspicions here entirely to heart. So by now, she had already returned to the very cave entrance where she had first hidden and was lying low.
The divine beast-level lion crouched beside her. Both human and beast peered out through the trees covering the cave entrance.
"Master, will they find us here?" The lion sounded uneasy. After all, the Xiao family had already dispatched search parties. Even if the younger generation hadn't located them, their elders would surely come hunting for it.
"I don't know. If they come, we'll hide." Yue'er replied, then paused before calling out, "Little Fox."
At her call, a small white fox appeared before her. It glanced at the lion before turning its gaze to Yue'er and responding, "Master."
