He encountered a fairy missing an ear, a werewolf reigning atop a pile of corpses, a homunculus thirsting for freedom, and gods bored with eternity. With a flat tone of voice, an unchanging expression, and a faint smile that unsettled everyone, Aeon slowly built his own kingdom—not a kingdom of splendor with palaces and armies, but a kingdom of information, debts, and invisible control.
