In a world smothered by unforgiving wilderness, where monsters roam freely, only Mages can push back the chaos and carve out a place for humanity. There is no village, town, or city without a Mage at its center, yet few places can sustain more than one Lord of Magic. And while being chosen by magic itself grants power, it does not promise an easy path to ascension. To truly wield that power, a Mage must endure the ruthlessness of both the world - and their peers.
Killian, a commoner turned Initiate of Magic, finds himself on an even more treacherous road to Magehood. Chosen to spearhead a new settlement in the untamed North, yet denied the support he was promised, he must face the unbeatable, survive the wilderness, and contend with stronger, more established Mages to protect any treasures he uncovers.
Outmatched and surrounded by impossible odds, Killian holds onto a single advantage - his magic.
Hypothetical Magic does not concern itself with what things are, but with what they could be. And if Killian can survive long enough to uncover its true potential, it may be powerful enough to overturn the very rules of the world.
