The Monster Who Embraces Me

youqueen
Jane was only eleven years old when the heavy iron gates of the orphanage closed behind her, replaced by the suffocating grandeur of the Vadnem estate. She had not been adopted out of charity or love; she was fetched like a prized but unproven specimen, brought to this cold fortress to be molded from childhood under the family’s merciless laws. Her destiny within the House of Vadnem hung by a dangerously thin thread. They would raise her, test her limits, and scrutinize her every breath. If she grew up to be the flawless, submissive noblewoman they required, a calculated marriage to the young lord Dave awaited her. But if she proved flawed, headstrong, or ultimately useless to their grand political chess game, she would be discarded without a second thought—thrown back into the gutter as though she never existed. Knowing this, Jane felt no despair; instead, a quiet, dangerous fire burned beneath her ribs. How could she survive in a place that demanded total submission? She chose the ultimate disguise. On the outside, she would play the part of the ghost they wanted—a lifeless, perfectly obedient doll who moved in absolute silence and followed every rigid decree without a whisper of protest. She would wear their heavy silk mask and mirror their cold etiquette until they believed they had completely broken her spirit. But beneath that flawless, robotic compliance, Jane remained entirely untamed. Her obedience was not surrender; it was a weapon. She would bide her time, learning their secrets and mastering their rules, waiting for the perfect moment to show the House of Vadnem that the orphan they tried to cage was never truly under their control.

Beauty and the Thief [BL]

Tao Hua's life is fucking miserable, and that misery somehow earns him the title of "Village Disgrace." In order to cope with the awful treatment, he often retreats into words untold, dictated by the flip of a page. These worlds leave him with the dream of escaping this piece of shit town. To his utter dismay, his wish comes true, but not in the way all those fairytales promised. His saviour is a man he becomes enthralled with and whom he names “Lord No-Name.” This male lead is a touchy man with many faces. And for lack of a better word, Tao Hua can’t decide if he’s either the story’s love interest or villain. But the two share a common sentiment. This prince, alike Tao Hua, is also fucking miserable. But arguably worse! And instead of coping like a normal fucking person, he does the opposite. He doesn't escape. He doesn't cope. He just tries to fight against the already fated truth of his demise. 0/10, worst prince ever written. Misery aside, this fateful encounter will force Tao Hua to make a choice, leaving him with only one question: "What was one mean-spirited beast to a town of people who despise a beauty's entire existence?" ──── ୨୧ ──── Beauty and the Thief is a slow-burn, stop to smell the roses, type of novel. That being said, the roses are beautiful, and upon closer observation they’re less floral than once thought. It follows the POV of Tao Hua, as he tries to navigate his new life in a place that actually values him, and the prince of this story’s mood swings. ──── ୨୧ ──── !!!!Disclaimer!!!! EXTREMELY SLOW PACED! Character driven, before plot! This story borrows the premise of Beauty and the Beast, by Jeanne-Marie Le Prince de Beaumont, relying heavily on the trope while also twisting it to smithereens. The beast element is exchanged for a power dynamic, and the curse differs from the original story. The narration borders on sarcastic and self-aware, while also targeting deeper topics. It often breaks the fourth wall as a stylistic choice. A lot of the work will be edited over time, but the bones will remain the same. ──── ୨୧ ──── CREDIT!! Wolf Princess Sold to the Dragon King

"Take me instead." Three words. Guinevere Lunaris trades herself and saves 300 lives. Tied. Gagged. Underestimated by a mile. They chain her to a tree in the snow. Mistake. While running for her life, she meets a stranger in the dark and tells him to hide so he isn’t killed. Twelve hours later, he walks into her father's hall wearing a crown. The man she just told to hide in a hole is Maddox Drakencrest, High King of Velkaris. Ruler of an entire continent. Maddox hears his dragon say ‘mate’ right away. But her wolf is silent. More and more Alpha Kings enter the hall. She catches the tail end of her father’s toast and chokes on her wine. "—leave here with a virgin bride." An auction for her hand turns into a full-out bidding war. Maddox wins. 750 million in gold, three dragon fleets, and an urn full of the bastard who chained her the day before. Every force in Velkaris is betting against a wolf on a dragon throne. The Elders say the queen must be a dragon rider, which is impossible for a woman without dragon blood. The king's half-brother agrees with them, but his solution is a civil war and taking the crown for himself. If his brother’s rebellion wins, Maddox dies and she belongs to him. If the elders win, she goes back to the father who sold her. Neither is happening. Her wolf calls Velkaris home. She's not giving it up. They expect Guinevere to behave like a good little wolf princess and play along with their political games. She says bet.
