Tales from Armageddon

(Monthly updates - The author is just a lazy, easily distracted idiot) AUGUST UPDATE: Apologies for the delay. I was moving houses and busy with Nutcracker performance. I am now back writing though! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Five people, several concerning and questionable decisions, one increasingly unstable kingdom, and a truly unreasonable amount of property damage. Come follow a mismatched group whose lives become entangled through exile, war, loyalty, bad timing, worse judgment, and the occasional "accidents". Juria Embersoul, a draconic exile with the temperament of a siege weapon and regrettably, the emotional instincts of an older sister. Luna Alasseah Aizemeer is an ancient elven healer, cleric, and the only person in the group consistently attempting to behave like a responsible adult though her sense of humour has not been updated in approximately three centuries. Ryle Schwartz is a mercenary sharpshooter, bartender, alcoholic disaster, and living proof that guilt and an idiot can apparently coexist in one very bigman. Atlas Morozov is a brilliant engineer, physicist, and commander of Halleya’s Royal Guard Armoured Division, whose carefully ordered existence is repeatedly assaulted by the people around him. And then there is Claudemund Meridian von Halleya. Princess. Self identified engineer. Fugitive. Occasional menace to the society. After spending most of her life trapped within the extravagant machinery of Halleyan royalty, Claudemund escapes the palace in the most discreet way available to her: theft, experimental engineering, multiple detonations, and leaving a considerable number of nobles extremely unhappy. Unfortunately, escaping Halleya proves much easier than escaping being a von Halleya. As Claudemund’s disappearance becomes a political problem rather than merely a family embarrassment, the others are pulled further into Halleya’s affairs... some willingly, some reluctantly, and some because Claudemund has once again made a decision on behalf of everyone present. Along the way, the group must survive mercenaries, political schemes, old betrayals, ancient magic, military technology, personal grudges, terrible choices, and each other. More inconveniently, they also begin to care about one another. Told through rotating perspectives, Book 1: Halleya is an ensemble steampunk-fantasy about found family, loyalty, identity, prejudice, political power, and five deeply imperfect people slowly becoming indispensable to one another. There are also explosions.
