Then she vanishes, leaving Zion alone with a hammer, a set of keys, and a secret he doesn't yet understand. When his sixteenth birthday arrives, the void's voice finds him mid-breath at the forge and drags him into an independent trial space — a realm of absolute dark where survival is the only currency. What should have been a manageable test against ordinary beasts spirals into something far more lethal: an *awakened* monster, a creature no sixteen-year-old should ever be forced to face.
