Monkey D. Luffy had always known one thing with absolute certainty.
One day, he would become the Pirate King.
But one afternoon, something happened in his sleep. Something he could not remember after waking up. All that remained was a feeling he could not explain, could not get rid of, and could not ignore.
For the first time in his life, Luffy began to train.
Not because someone told him to.
But because there was something inside him that could no longer stay still.
This is the story of the year before his journey began.
