the chiefs third wife
---
In the village of Igweoma, Chief Okafor is a man of wealth, authority, and mystery. His compound is ruled by tradition, power, and the silent rivalry of his wives.
When Amaka, the strange young woman who is known throughout the land as “the lady that doesn’t eat,” becomes his third wife, the village buzzes with rumors. Why does she never touch food? What secret lies behind her calm eyes and quiet smile?
Inside the Chief’s household, Amaka finds herself caught between Mama Ada, the sharp and calculating first wife, and Mama Ngozi, the outspoken and jealous second wife. Every step she takes draws suspicion. Every night, whispers grow louder.
But Amaka did not come to Igweoma to be broken. She carries a secret that could either protect her—or burn the Chief’s household to ashes.
And in a place where power is everything, even silence can be deadly.
