Plot Overview:
In a world where cursed entities known as Cursed Beasts roam freely, humanity has learned to coexist with these dark forces, though not without cost. People who are bitten by these entities are marked with Curse Marks, granting them immense and often dangerous powers. However, these marks come with a price: they are the embodiment of the entity's will and can turn the bearer into a powerful but unstable weapon.
The Story Begins: Kenshin Ryuto, a young man with a fiery temperament, lives in the shadow of the tragedy that destroyed his family. His village was annihilated by Kira Aku no, the Raiden Shogun-like villainess who wields the ability to steal life spans and the Curse Marks of those she wounds. Kira Aku no is a ruthless, calculating leader who seeks to consolidate power by absorbing the abilities of other Curse Mark bearers, using their strength to further her reign of terror.
Kenshin, forever scarred by his family’s murder, seeks revenge on the woman who destroyed everything he loved. But fate takes an unexpected turn when, after a long night of grief-stricken sleep, an ancient Cursed Beast named Kurobatsu—a cursed entity that harbors a deep sympathy for Kenshin—bites him in his sleep. This bite marks him with a unique Curse Mark, one that provides him with a deadly array of abilities but also places him in a constant battle to maintain control over the power and its cost.
