New Mutant, New World

scrapsplosh
Hal Rayner wakes up in what appears to be a different version of the MCU. Now in the body of a younger version of himself, he must navigate this unfamiliar world, a world that carries its own weight of problems, with strong will. A vanished population. An earth in mourning. A hopeless society grasping for answers. Beneath it all lies a repressed fear that only the world leaders and government have—an unease surrounding the quiet rise of a new species that could challenge the future of humanity: mutants. A species Hal now belongs to. He will face the greed of the very people he once called his own, dodge their grasping hands that are eager to dissect and profit from the blood of his comrades, carry the sorrow of his kind, and temper the rage building inside him as innocents follow orders in the name of the greater good. He will endure for those he loves, for those he holds with compassion—for mutantkind. — This story is my spin on a marvel mutant fanfic. What I want to focus on is a story around the five years that half of the population went missing, as well as beyond, as I don’t really see any story based around that time at all. This story will also focus towards the rise of mutants, and how it would be in the MCU, at least, what would make sense to me with the established mythos of the movies. It will touch the themes of oppression, media control, racism, and all those things in the x-men comic. Everything before Thanos snapped his fingers for the first time will be what it was in the MCU canon, but after it will be entirely AU. Because of said themes, this fanfic will NOT be a face-slapping kind of fanfic. I will focus on the characters, their motivations, their trauma, and their struggle. Because of the circumstances of the MCU as a whole, most of the adult X-men cast that you know from fanfics or movies will probably not appear at all or will be in a different state that you usually find in other stories. The first arc of the story will sort-of be the New Mutants movie heavy rewrite. If that doesn’t interest you, then move along I guess. Aside from the New Mutants movie rewrite at the start, I will probably take very loose inspirations from Avengers vs. X-men, Civil War II, House of X, Fall of X, and all the post-endgame movies. As for chapter information. A chapter will be around 700-2000 words, depending on my mood and the pace of the scenes. I don’t have a fixed schedule, but I will most likely post in bulk, especially if the scenes are shorter and thus the chapters are shorter. Lastly, everything aside the MC doesn't belong to me, even the cover picture. art by sway art.

The Greatest king

In the vast Nazare Blade Empire, ruled with an iron hand by Emperor Groa Aratat, there existed eight princes, each striving for recognition and power. Among them was Josh Aratat, the most obscure and least acknowledged of the emperor’s sons. Born of a mother who passed away when he was just a child, Josh grew up in the shadows of his more celebrated brothers, his heart burdened with loss and his life marked by solitude. One fateful day, Emperor Groa decreed a challenge: each of his sons was to venture into separate regions of the empire, conquer them, and win the loyalty of their people. The prince who demonstrated the greatest strength, strategy, and ability to amass supporters would be crowned the imperial prince—the heir to the throne. The empire buzzed with speculation. Most believed the title would go to the mighty firstborn, Balek Aratat, renowned for his unparalleled strength. Others placed their bets on the cunning second-born, Jaden Aratat, or the skilled third-born, Gerard Aratat. Few gave any thought to the younger sons, particularly the sixth to eighth—Josh included. In their eyes, he was merely a shadow, unworthy of mention in the race for the throne. But everything changed when Josh encountered a dying man, condemned to execution for the crime of stealing bread. Wracked with despair and tired of his own existence, Josh made a startling decision—he offered to take the man’s place, embracing what he thought would be his end. Yet, in an unexpected twist of fate, death did not claim him. Instead, Josh emerged from the ordeal with a newfound power—an extraordinary ability granted as a result of his selfless act. This gift would not only alter the course of his life but also shake the foundations of the Nazare Blade Empire and the world beyond.
