Chapter 1 - The Amazing Adventures of Two Naughty Friends

The name of the village was Happyville. Just like its name, the people of the village were always cheerful. In that very village lived two mischievous best friends—Rahul and Babai. They were about twelve or thirteen years old. They went to school together, played together, and got into trouble together. Everyone in the village knew that wherever these two were, some kind of funny incident was sure to happen!

Chapter One: The Mystery of the Mango Tree

One afternoon Rahul said,

"Babai, have you heard? They say a ghost has been seen in Uncle's mango tree!"

Babai widened his eyes and said,

"A ghost? In the mango tree? Then our dream of eating mangoes is over!"

Actually, the mangoes in Uncle's garden were very sweet. Both of them had been wanting for a long time to secretly pluck one or two and eat them.

Rahul said,

"Let's go tonight and check it out. If there's a ghost, we'll run. If not, we'll eat mangoes!"

At night, they quietly went with a torchlight. Standing under the tree, Babai said in a trembling voice,

"Rahul, what if there really is a ghost?"

Just then, something white moved on a branch! Both of them screamed, "Aaaah!" and ran away.

After five minutes, gathering some courage, they returned and saw—it was just Uncle's white towel flying in the wind!

Babai, panting, said,

"Not a ghost—a towel!"

Then both of them rolled on the ground laughing.

Chapter Two: The School Science Project

The following week, they had to submit a science project at school. The teacher said,

"The one who makes the best project will receive a prize."

Rahul and Babai decided to build a "Robot Servant"!

Babai said,

"We'll use an old lunch box, two wheels, and the motor from a toy car."

After much effort, they made a strange-looking machine. It looked more like a duck than a robot.

The next day at school, as soon as they switched it on, instead of moving forward, the robot started running backward! It went straight and crashed into the teacher's desk!

The teacher jumped and said,

"Is this a robot or a rocket?"

The whole class burst into laughter. Rahul and Babai scratched their heads in embarrassment.

But in the end, the teacher said,

"Your idea is very good. With a little improvement, it could really work."

The two friends happily gave each other a high-five.

Chapter Three: The Missing Goat

One day, Uncle Madhu's goat went missing. Everyone was searching for it. Rahul said,

"Let's become detectives!"

Babai put on an old hat and said,

"I am Detective Babai, and you are my assistant, Rahul!"

They started looking for the goat's footprints on the ground. But by mistake, they followed duck footprints and reached the pond.

Babai said,

"Can goats swim?"

Just then, they heard a "Baa-aa!" from behind. Turning around, they saw the goat standing right behind them.

Actually, the goat had been hiding behind their own house.

Uncle Madhu said,

"You two are amazing detectives! The goat caught itself!"

Everyone burst out laughing.

Chapter Four: The Kitchen Disaster

One day, they decided they would cook by themselves.

Rahul said,

"Today we'll make special khichdi!"

But they started arguing about how much salt to add. In the end, both of them secretly added salt separately.

When the khichdi was ready, they each took a spoonful and froze.

Babai shouted,

"This isn't khichdi—it's a mountain of salt!"

Just then Rahul's mother came and said,

"Are you cooking food or starting a salt business?"

Everyone laughed loudly.

Chapter Five: The Cricket Chaos

There was going to be a cricket match in the village. Rahul and Babai were on the same team.

Babai said,

"I'm going to hit a six!"

But when he swung the bat, he ended up knocking off his own cap.

Rahul said,

"You didn't hit the ball—you hit the air!"

Finally, when Rahul batted, he hit the ball so hard that it landed in the pond.

Everyone stood there wondering—who would go into the pond now?

In the end, both of them got soaked retrieving the ball. Their wet appearance was funnier than the match itself!

Final Chapter: The Real Lesson

One day, an elderly grandfather from the village said,

"You boys laugh and joke all the time, but remember—friendship is the greatest thing of all."

Rahul and Babai looked at each other. It was true. No matter what trouble they caused, they were always together.

Rahul said,

"If you weren't there, would it be this much fun?"

Babai smiled and replied,

"No! If you weren't there, I would have run from the 'ghost' all alone!"

Both of them burst into laughter again.

The villagers knew that whatever these two mischievous boys became in the future, their friendship would never change.

The End.
