Chapter 46: Birth, Abomination, and Life-After.

~~~ [START]
It hadn't even been morning yet, but Alice smiled at the warmth of Troy's chest while simultaneously trying her hardest to hold on to her thoughts. The thought that one day that same warmth would leave him was too much to imagine; it was one of the things that made him different.
"Tell me something about yourself," Alice said, head tilting upward toward his, nipples brushing over him, as she fixed her naked body atop his chest.
Troy also turned to her, and he breathed. Truth be told, he wanted to feel something, even if it was a tinge of regret, but even then, even after staying in that position for hours, nothing felt amiss. "What do you wanna know?"
Alice's chin rested on him, her short hair lying by itself, covering a section of her eye.
"What's your favourite food?" Alice asked, unblinking.
"Pizza."
Alice paused for a moment, as though taking a breath, "How does it taste?"
"I don't know," Troy's hand instinctively moved to her face, moving aside the strand that obstructed above her one eye and hanging it on her left ear. "It's kind of unfilling, but its good, you know."
A smile passed Alice's as she shifted her head, slowly kissing him right where she once lay. "No, I don't, so tell me."
Troy's eyes slowly closed from her cold lips, hands nearly lifting her head up after realising how her head kept lowering. But he wanted it, so he moved his hands, grabbed the blankets, and breathed when she reached his privates.
"Tell me," Alice said again, this time in a lowered voice, which for some reason still carried a sense of interest.
"It's delicious."
The sun was closely touching the sky now, as transparent clouds moved upward from the little light its shine produced.
"Pizza?" Gina asked, brow raised.
Honey laughed, moments from giggling, "Well, I mean… we were both homeless, so it was a big deal."
Gina shrugged, slowly drinking a green smoothie, which she was, for some reason, holding tightly with both hands.
"Don't do that," Honey said, noting the glare of judgment coming from her. "I was fifteen."
"And you asked him for pizza, he was homeless."
Honey shook her head, laughing, "Troy was my age… It's not that bad."
"Okay," Gina finished, the straw in her mouth sipping the last drops within her cup. "So… did you ask him out?"
A confident nod answered back, but unexpectedly, Gina wasn't surprised.
"What?" Gina asked.
Honey's brows raised. "Aren't you gonna ask me how?"
"The new girl barged into my room last night, looking for you two. Trust me, I don't wanna know."
Confusion flickered in Honey's head, but in the next moment, clarity hit. "Wait, you mean?"
"Yes," Gina rolled her eyes when Honey moved both hands to her lips, "she saw me having sex."
"You what?!"
Bella squinted her eyes from the loudness of Jessica, who was speaking on the phone. "Yeah, but relax, it's not like I did it on purpose. So I don't think I can—"
"No! What? We have to make plans for La-Push?" Jessica shot.
Bella's eyes narrowed, "But that's on Tuesday."
"I said plans…!" Jessica screamed again, "and it's not like Gina will be there or anyway—"
"I was about Tyler, I mean… I saw his thing."
Jessica, who was now stunned to the core from the other side of the call, closed her eyes in disbelief, "Just come, I'll talk to him."
Then the call hung up.
Bella sighed, getting up, shaking her head from the light headache. And much like that, her eyes turned to the window, and she turned away from it in disappointment.
She had left it open since last night, thinking with an ounce of hope that, for some unknown reason, he would come to greet her good morning.
But it was too early, and they had nearly the whole night yesterday talking; she even wondered if he had gotten home in time to get enough sleep, but he was fast, so she hoped he did.
"Bella," a voice rang behind her, and even before turning toward it, a smile blessed her lips.
{ELSEWHERE}
Everything Troy did seemed hesitant, from the way he took his shower, to glancing at his figure in the mirror too long.
For the first time in many years, the person in the mirror just didn't seem like himself. In fact, he resembled the person he was searching for.
The only difference being that Troy's hair was shorter, and his skin, even if it was temporary, held onto dear life. His voice, even if he tried to convince himself otherwise, sounded like him; it always did.
Toast flying out from the toaster in the kitchen jolted him to reality.
'Honey,' the name passed him; what would she think? All this time, she thought he was different from them; he told her so himself.
What would she think, knowing he lied for the benefit of trust?
Maybe, just maybe, for the first time that day, something resentful emerged from deep within him, not for Honey, or for Dracula himself.
But for weakness. For the reflection. For what he was.
He was a monster, a creature of darkness.
And what good would come from that which ate its own mother?
It was an abomination; all it deserved was Hell.
And Hell was coming.
