Chapter 3 - I always stay at home

Kai stared at the girl's clothes, completely dry as if they had never touched water, while her hair still dripped down her shoulders. He fell into deep thought, puzzled.

The blonde girl noticed his gaze and at first looked confused, but quickly understood his curiosity. "These clothes are made of special material," she explained, tugging at the fabric around her belly. "They never get dirty, never tear, and they dry themselves instantly."

Kai rubbed his chin, unimpressed. 'What is this idiot saying?' he thought. But he dismissed the idea. after all, he had the Omnitrix. What was so special about cheat-like clothes compared to that?

"So… you never bathe?" he asked bluntly.

Thud!

A sharp smack landed on his head. He looked up, ready to argue, but froze when he saw her frightening expression. Deciding it was wiser to stay quiet, he shut his mouth.

Her expression softened into a smile. "Anyway, thank you for saving me."

Kai let out a sigh of relief. For a moment, he was reminded of his mother. Curiosity returned, and he asked, "Why were you drowning? And how did your stomach hold so much water? I was exhausted trying to get it all out."

Hearing his complaint, the blonde girl scratched her head in embarrassment. Swaying slightly, she stuck out her tongue. "It's… a long story. I don't even know how to explain it to you."

Kai interrupted her. "Go on. I've got plenty of time and I'm bored." He rummaged through his bag, pulling out two cans of iced coffee (brownie batter donut edition) and a packet of macarons. "Here, go on," he said, cracking open his can and sipping while already tearing into the macarons.

The girl accepted the other can, mimicking his movements as she sipped and nibbled on a macaron. "So… it's like this. Me and my brother…"

--Four thousand years later--(just kidding)

Kai gave her a look that screamed 'I believe it' but clearly meant the opposite. The girl caught on immediately. "What's with that look?"

Kai shook his head. "So you and your brother decided to leave… uh, Tev-ah-tev?"

The girl corrected him flatly. "Teyvat."

Kai gave a thumbs-up. "Right, Teyvat. Then some unknown god stopped you both and thrashed your ass just by… aura farming."

She tilted her head. "Aura what?"

Kai shrugged. "Anyway, you got sealed, and your brother was kidnapped by that unknown god."

The girl nodded firmly. "That's the truth. Believe it or not."

Kai fell silent, deep in thought, absorbing the strange tale the girl across from him had just revealed. he couldn't decide whether the girl was telling the truth or if she had serious issues. Still, looking at her, she didn't seem like an ordinary person. after all, who else would have cheat-like clothes that were so comfortable and enviable?

Rubbing his temple, Kai thought 'If she's not lying, then I'm not stranded on some random island. I've actually been transported to another world. And worse… this world has gods who aurafarm and beat people senseless at the same time.'

His stomach tightened at the thought. 'If those gods target outsiders, then I'm in danger too. I don't want to get beaten before I even understand why I'm here.'

Munch, munch.

The blonde girl glanced at him, watching the boy think so deeply and act so mature. She found it cute and felt the urge to pinch his cheek. But since they weren't close enough yet, she decided to wait until she improved his favorability. For now, she simply enjoyed her macarons, munching happily.

Seeing her silly expression, Kai sighed and decided to leave this mess to his future self. For now, he had too little information and was surrounded by the unknown. First, he needed to settle himself properly, plans could come later.

"So, how much do you know about this world?" he asked.

The blonde girl shook her head. "I don't know much. I was sealed right after I woke up." Her frustration was clear, her brother had been kidnapped, and her own situation was uncertain. Still, she wasn't overly worried about him. She knew her brother was durable, able to withstand beatings all day without fainting.

[Aether: I am grateful to have you as my sister.]

Thinking of this, she cheered herself up. "Forget the sad things. I'm a traveler, I've journeyed through many worlds."

Kai gave her a deadpan stare. "Is that so? Well, I'm a homebody. I always stay at home."
