After presenting themselves to Lady Elnor, Zarod and his men were imprisoned almost immediately.
This did not come as a surprise to the leader of the Sand Bandits. Relations between the two factions had never been cordial. They were rival groups operating within the same region, and the Sand Bandits had asserted their dominance by coordinating literal massacres of the Rushers, eliminating them methodically across every corner of the Varang.
All of it had been carried out under Zarod's direct orders, who never once hesitated to provoke Lady Elnor whenever the opportunity arose.
The military and economic superiority of the Sand Bandits over the Rushers had been undeniable—until their defeat at the hands of Vulkania. That loss marked the true beginning of Zarod's downfall, along with that of his people.
