Ernest floating in a dark void thought groggily "Why am I always having this empty recurring dream". He has always been dreaming of this dark empty void since he could remember, just drifting about with no sense of purpose or direction. he has pondered a lot about it and he can't seem to get the reason why.
Minutes later, ernest already used to the situation woke of energized and couldn't help but wonder what the future holds.
"Will I be able to become a powerful Devourer just like mom and dad" he wondered hopefully.
"Hahahahahah" he laughed out Loud.
"You are thinking of being a powerful devourer with that pathetic assimilation capability and just two openable potion slots" he self-mocked jokingly but he couldn't hide the intense burning determination n his eyes.
Ernest stood up swiftly and began his intense morning fitness drill that he started about 2 years ago, since he heard from a very potion researcher, that higher physical attributes is capable of increasing assimilation rate and also unlocking more potion slots.
"Ernest is that you again" Talia called from the lower floor.
"You know you don't have to always work so hard she said" worry evident in her voice. "okay mom" Ernest said still focused on the exercise he has structured to complete per day.
After a very laborious exercise,Ernest left to freshen up and move downstairs to have breakfast. Downstairs, while having breakfast Julian said slowly "I heard you guys would be having your potion ingredient selection test very soon".
Ernest slowly raised his head and said expectantly "yes dad, and I cant wait to get my first devourer ability".
After a little while of chatting over breakfast with hi s parent, Ernest left home and headed for the school. The high school "Gale high school" is the neighbothood highschool which most student in the vicinity attend.
on his way Ernest heard a loud shout from behind Hey Ernest, hey hey even without turning his head back he was sure who it was. It was zack his childhood friend that they were always seen together.
Zack ran up from behind and tried jumping on Ernest back nah nah fatty I don't think anyone is capable of carry you ernest said playfully.
On there way Ernest couldn't help but marvel at the astonishing beauty of the world with the floating cars, the magnetic rails and everyone on the street focused on different things on there digital watches. It gives a weird feeling of peace.
At the school gate
" Hey, hey loser what exactly are you still doing in this school, Everyone knows you have no hope as a devourer" Ernest self proclaimed worst enemy Bryce said with a voice filled with contempt.
Ernest already used to his childish antiques chose not to respond to the taunt. Bryce feeling embarrassed due to Ernest ignoring so publicly got frustrated and rushed towards Ernest trying to attack him
"Whoooshh" Enerst dodged fluidly
Bryce kept attacking but Ernest was able to jugde effortless due to his enhanced physical capabilities from daily training. While this should have discouraged bryce like a normal human, this kept angering him more and this made his attacks more ferocious.
" Stop the both of you" a loud voice reverberated in the area. All students looked towards the direction of the sound and saw there Enigmatic teacher Mr Adams standing there confidently .Mr Adams is a blue haired, blue eyed man with a very well chiseled face and a sculpted body that is very much visible even after the obvious attempt to hide it.
"Mr Adams , ohh my God he is soo handsome" said some female students quietly to their friends.
"The both of you to class right now " Mr Adam ordered resolutely. Though Bryce wasn't satisfied he had to follow orders and leave quietly.
Ernest exhaled slightly and slowly treaded towards his classroom.
In the classroom, students were cheerfully chatting with there peers and friends until Mr Adams entered the class settled
"Good morning class, As we all know your chance to become devourers is just around the corner is there anyone that would like to tell us about Devourers, their origin and how there power works"
Students in the class eagerly raised there hands, each brimming with excitement
" Lihanna " Mr Adams finally called out
