In a vast woodland of lush green trees, stood a modest dark oak cottage with a grey stone roof, smoke plumping from its crumbling chimney. A white picket fence surrounding its land with a few chicken roaming around and stump of a tree with an axe grounded in its crack. From the outside it seems very peaceful, however these four walls tell the dark story of the poorest family in the lands owned by King Seamus.
A young man called David and his mother Freda spent the morning in an emotional storm created by the war of the decade.
"I am going mum! I am going to the academy to join the war! I have got my egg and I am going to avenge dad!" David bellowed with a face of fury.
"David I can't lose you both, I won't survive it, your dad didn't have a choice you do" Freda broke down in sorrow.
Looking at his mum on her knees with her face in her hands trying to hide the tears running rampant down her face, he had went into deep thought, "come with me mum, sell the cottage and lets make the changes we would like to see in the world, the changes dad fought and died for, let's not let him die in vein", walking closer to her and dropping down to help her up, wiping away her tears.
"when did my little boy grow up? Your dad would be so proud of you. In two months time we will make the journey to the academy. We need to prepare" she resigned into the request. Freda turned towards the window looking at the axe in the stump, 'the last time that axe was swung was the day before you left for the war, the last time we sat by the fire drinking our tea you made with the mint from the woods, I will keep these memories with me dear, and I will keep our son safe'
As the weeks went on Freda and David packed any necessary equipment and supplies until finally the day came when the sun started to rise and a silhouette appeared from the woods. Setting aside her sentimentality on their home, she turned to her son, "I guess the time to sell our home has arrived, start bringing the supplies out we leave as soon as we sign the sale". David rushed about in a bringing everything to the gate, stopping on his last trip at the stump and lifting the axe, 'you will always find a way to protect me dad' he thought strapping it to his tool belt.
David and Freda fought their way through the forest, stopping at streams for water and making camp fires at night to settle down. Until finally, they came across a clearing. "Its been 2 weeks mum, we are finally here, look how grand the academy looks, look how it towers over the hills and how powerful the structure is, we are going to do great things here" he hurried unable to contain his excitement. "David, I have been praying the whole way here your egg is as powerful as your dads, I hope tomorrow goes well for you, lets get in registered and settled" Freda remarked with a soft yet determined voice.
"Get up mum! Its morning! Todays the day, its finally here, I can go to the alter and combine with my egg!!" David scurried getting dressed and fixing his hair in the mirror. "I sleot in my clothes lets go son" Freda screeched pushing David out the door. David and Freda hurried down the corridor noticing all the marking on the wall, the deep scratches and the indents of what looked like to be from a body slamming in to them. Down the cold dark black circular brick stairwell and straight up to the alter.
"okay David, this is the moment you've been waiting 5 years for, take a breath and focus on connecting with your egg, only when you are completely focused it will hatch and bond with you. After that, you will collapse while your body goes through the changes it needs" Freda said absolutely assured.
Walking up to the alter David took closed his eyes and took a deep breath, focusing all his energy on connecting with the egg, after a few moments a lighting flashed in his eyes and he felt shocks all round his body. Freda couldn't believe what she was seeing, lightening uncontrollably leaving the egg before turning into lightening itself and zapping straight into David.
"mum did it work?" David winced in pain, "what happened?". To the absolute shock of Freda looking into her sons eyes they displayed a stormy grey with blue and yellow lightening shooting threw them. Noticing a shadow growing over her looking up, she seen the most majestic wolf she had ever seen, with dark grey fur lined with light grey strands half with a tint of blue and a half tint yellow, and a lightening strike marked on its head just above its eye. "da da David, I have never heard of this type of wolf and your eyes, I have never seen these eyes, I think we need to go to a specialist" Freda exclaimed with immediate concern.
Within the hour a specialist arrived to the alter and stopped dead in his tracks once laying eyes on the wolf, immediately calling out his wind eagle and stuttering his speech as he wrote a note to go straight to the royal castle. Slowly turning to David and bowing, "th th the electric wo wo wolf has arr arrived, we are saved, we have hope, we have awaited the return for 50 years. 50 years of horror as the other kingdoms tried to take ours and enslave our people. You have arrived" he exclaimed almost in disbelief of his own eyes.
