Chapter 3 - 3

This is a Flerken, one of the most terrifying creatures in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It appears as an ordinary, harmless orange cat, but countless tentacles can extend from its mouth to devour everything, as its stomach is connected to another universe.

Su Wei, as planned, 'easily' entered the cosmic space within the Flerken's mouth.

However, the smell here was much worse than he had imagined.

Suppressing his nausea,

Su Wei put on his breathing apparatus,

and began to look around.

This was simply a giant junkyard.

Cat scratchers, cat wands, yarn balls, mouse toys, refrigerators, firearms... all sorts of bizarre things were present,

all suspended in the air.

After scanning and exploring for a while,

Su Wei confirmed that this vast pocket dimension

had no signs of life.

Provided he didn't eat or drink,

it was absolutely safe here,

and he could temporarily evade pursuit.

But this was not why Su Wei chose to come in; he couldn't hide here forever.

His gaze continued to search.

After a full four hours of searching,

Su Wei finally discovered a faint blue glowing cube in the distance.

It was the tesseract, swallowed by the Flerken in "Captain Marvel."

The tesseract is the container for the Space Stone, one of the six Infinity Stones in the universe. It possesses the power of space, capable of opening spatial gates and teleporting to anywhere.

The way out was ahead.

As Su Wei, in a state of weightlessness, was about to glide towards it,

he suddenly noticed a domino on his right side.

It had three sets of patterns: nine intertwined snakes, a fire Long Xiaotian, and an upside-down bat.

A mysterious will urged Su Wei to reach out and grab the domino.

The moment he held it in his hand, a seemingly electronically synthesized, emotionless, mechanical voice echoed in Su Wei's mind, saying,

"Eighth Pawnshop system activated!"

Eighth Pawnshop?

Before Su Wei could react,

the voice continued,

"Based on the timeline divination for this world, you will interact with most powerful souls, and based on a comprehensive evaluation of your strength and moral standards, you meet the host criteria."

Su Wei was reluctant about this unknown entity that had appeared in his mind.

Moreover, the system chose him because of his strength and moral standards.

"Strength? Because I'm weak, I'm easy to control?

Moral standards? Am I not a good person?"

"Yes, Mr. Su."

...That blunt? Su Mo wanted to refuse even more.

"First, let me introduce you to the business scope of the Eighth Pawnshop. Guests can pawn not only gold, silver, and jewels, but also their bodies, limbs, emotions, luck, lifespan, and soul. But please remember, what the pawnshop ultimately wants is a person's soul; that is the most precious thing."

It really was the Eighth Pawnshop he had seen on TV in his previous life. Su Wei remembered that several of the shop owners had died tragically.

"Mr. Host, as long as you do not harm the interests of the pawnshop, you will be the safest person in the world. This job is very simple; you just need to harvest interesting souls, preferably evil ones. Good souls are all the same, but evil souls are ever-changing, and these are the most valuable souls to collect. Of course, I will not refuse good souls either."

"It's not that I'm unwilling to spend my life with a system of unknown gender, but why not find those full of justice to work for you? I never want to work a day in my life! More importantly, I'm a pacifist. I have no conflicts with those bad guys, and many of them have fans and are sometimes quite cute. To me, those bad guys aren't..."

The system interrupted Su Wei's monologue, switching to a seductive female voice,

"In return, you will have immortal life. Your flesh and blood body will no longer suffer damage, you will have no illness, and you will always be as young as you are now. Moreover, you will enjoy endless wealth, and the world's glory will be within your reach."

"...Isn't that the worst? Okay, I agree!"

"System binding successful!"

With the system bound, Su Wei entered the internal space of the pawnshop.

A magnificent and luxurious mansion appeared before him.

The mansion was a Chinese-style courtyard, but unlike the dim lighting of traditional courtyards, the lights here were very bright.

Su Wei walked through the courtyard, passed through the veranda, and entered a study.

Marble floors, magnificent crystal chandeliers, red drapes—

just as he had seen on TV in his previous life.

Only the bookshelves on both walls of the study were empty.

In the center of the room was a huge desk, also empty.

Feeling subtly uneasy,

Su Wei sat down on the high-backed black leather chair behind the desk, and the system's voice sounded again,

"This is where the host will work from now on. The branch is newly established, and the pawnshop resources are insufficient. In the early stages, the host will need to independently fulfill some of the customers' needs."

"I seem to have boarded a pirate ship. Can I go back on my word?" Su Wei finally realized what was wrong, stood up, and prepared to walk out.

"Immortal life and an undamaged body have already been realized and cannot be revoked without damaging the body, unless the host does not care about the integrity of his body..."

Su Wei stopped, feeling cowardly.

"Alright, what about the endless wealth? It's not gone, is it?"

"According to the pawnshop's operating rules, the system can modify customer account balances but cannot modify the host's account balance. However, the host will receive a corresponding commission for each transaction completed, which can be non-soul collateral or money. There is no upper limit for monetary commissions. Theoretically, as long as the host works hard, endless wealth is within reach."

"I'm not surprised in the least, haha. Just tell me about the penalties too. I don't believe there are only benefits." Su Wei sat back down in the black leather chair.

"Every year, the system will match a client whose order the host can complete based on his strength, as a guaranteed business. This client's order must be completed. Otherwise, the system will deduct double the bonus. If the host's account balance is insufficient to cover the deduction, the host's soul will be used as collateral."

This answer made Su Wei breathe a sigh of relief; it was quite lenient.

After a few more exchanges,

he confirmed that this was a pawnshop that currently had almost nothing except money.

Starting a business is tough.

However, there would be plenty of time to research after he left.

Su Wei put the system aside for now and left the pawnshop.

After gliding for several kilometers in the void, he finally reached the tesseract.

He reached out and grabbed it.

Just as he was about to use the Skrull scientist's memories to activate the tesseract's teleportation ability,

"Singularity containing spatial energy detected. Beginning to decipher the spatial rules of this world. Please do not release it before deciphering is complete."

After saying that, it ignored Su Wei.

Su Wei could only hold onto the tesseract while wandering around in the pocket dimension,

picking up junk... no, recycling resources.

The Flerken's diet was truly extensive.

Perhaps because it had been in a military base before,

the pocket dimension was practically a small armory.

All kinds of light and heavy weapons were present, and there was even an airplane.

Su Wei collected everything into the pawnshop space.

After collecting all the weapons and equipment,

Su Wei, for the Flerken's digestive health, also swept away all the bizarre, unrecognizable items.

Even the Kree corpses swallowed in "Captain Marvel" were not spared.

When the oxygen tank connected to his breathing apparatus was almost empty,

the system finally responded.
