Chapter 1 - The strange happiness of Yagami.

I am Yagami. I'm 22 years old, alone and talentless. I live and work in a company that makes video games. I used to have a wealthy father, but he suffered from an incurable disease. A few days after his death, my stepmother took all of my father's inheritance in her name and threw me out of my own house.

I have been working in this company since I was seven, and I only have one friend, whose name is Yuji. He's not just my friend—he's my family, the most valuable thing I have in this world. Every night, we play games, laugh, and compete with each other.

The Night That Changed Yagami's Fate

Yagami: Tonight, you won't beat me, hahaha!

Yuji: Sorry, bro, I have to go on a date tonight.

Yagami: A date!?… A date with who?

Yuji: I've been seeing a girl for a few weeks, and I plan to marry her. I have a date with her tonight. She's kind, beautiful…

Yagami, feeling disgusted by his friend's words, said: "Alright, alright, don't continue. Do whatever you want."

After Yuji left, I went out and drank until I was completely drunk. A few hours later, I returned to the company with a bottle of liquor. I was so angry at Yuji that I kept thinking: "I've fallen for such a kind, beautiful girl. She's different from all the girls in the world. Oh, Yagami… tonight I have to go. I can't enjoy the night with you… I'm really, really sorry."

I kept mumbling to myself, and from drinking too much, I passed out. The bottle of liquor spilled onto the computer.

The Next Morning…

My boss was standing over me. When I opened my eyes, I quickly got up and greeted him.

Boss: "Turn on the computer and get to work immediately."

Yagami: "Yes…!"

But when I plugged in the computer, it wouldn't start. My boss was still standing above me and said, "Why isn't it turning on? Did you break it?"

No matter what I did, the computer wouldn't start. When I lifted the keyboard, a bit of alcohol was still dripping from it.

Seeing the water dripping from the keyboard, my boss shouted angrily:

"What did you do to my $5,000 computer? Do you know what will happen to you for breaking it? Huh?!"

He punched me hard in the face. I fell to the ground as he kicked me in the stomach so hard that blood flowed from my mouth. I looked around for help, but my coworkers only laughed with hatred.

Struggling, I got back up. The boss was about to punch me again. I begged, "Please, let me fix it."

He said: "You idiot! You think a computer can still turn on after alcohol is poured on it? And it's still dripping!"

He was about to punch me again, but suddenly the computer turned on. A message appeared on the screen: "Survive to reach the last floor."

The light from the computer was so bright that it blinded me. When I opened my eyes, everything had changed.

I found myself in a place that seemed familiar: the starting environment of the game I had created myself!

A few minutes later, a woman descended from the sky and began to speak. When she raised her head, a shiver ran through my body—she was one of the servants of the King of the Last Floor, the Angel of Death, Tartaros.

The fear was so intense that I could barely breathe. One of the people present tried to protest and said they wanted to leave. The Angel of Death, in anger, raised her hand toward them and said:

"Did I give you permission to speak!?"

Then she clenched her fist, and that person's body exploded…
