Enishi, our 16 year old protagonist, is helping his mother Ayase Shinmen bring the boxes into their new home. They had just moved into Tokyo from Nikko after his fathers passing for a new life.
"Mom!! I think that's all of them!" Enishi yells from his room to his mother "Nice honey! Rest up ill be home by 6" his mother says from the door searching for her car keys in her purse preparing to leave "Okay mom stay safe though!" Enishi replied as he heard the door shut.
After his mom pulled out of the drive way. He laid on his bed, reminiscing about his old friends and life and especially about his father, Ensho, whom he missed dearly. He was still grieving, but he knew he had to stay strong for his mothers sake and at least try out Tokyo.
He wanted to go ever since he was a little kid but he imagined his first time would be with his dad."*sigh* the feelings he felt at the moment were kinda electric in the sense he would have a sudden spike of sadness whenever he saw something that reminded him of his father
Enishi was thinking about going out for a walk to take his mind off things and since his mother gave him an allowance, maybe buy some new jewelry since it was his hobby. He'd made up his mind, threw on his flannel, put on his shoes and headed for the door while tying his hair back. Long before his fathers passing he remembers his father telling him now the men of Hoshinori blood, a feudal clan from China that were the descendants to king Qin Shi Huang the former king. The men of the clan grow their hair from birth and only cut it when a loved one passes. Enishi's hair before the funeral would go down to his elbows, now it barely touched his shoulders. He locked his door and walked down the sidewalk, staring at the sky. Looking at the clouds for peace, for a level of tranquility he craves so immensely to replace his pain.
But such does not exist but his father believed in it. Told him stories about their blood reaching a level of peace that even surpassed the Buddhists. He called it the RE:Ethereal or known in the clan as "Sai: Eseriaru" a technique when one reaches full enlightenment grants power beyond their wildest imagination, but his father always wrote it off as a myth. Even so Enishi always saw more to the story but never heard of it again since his fathers passing
While on his walk he came across a yard sale. Enishi had never seen one before so he went to check it out, look around and see what he'd like. After some carousing he came across a ring with a certain aura to it. It attracted Enishi and he'd already admired its beauty, so without a second thought he blew his whole allowance on the ring and took it back home.
After getting home, he'd noticed his mother still hadn't returned and it was well past due for her to arrive. Enishi, growing worried, decided to get properly ready and go out to search for her, unknowingly putting the ring on as well as many others. When the ring touched the button of his ring finger Enishi fell into a paralysed state with his eyes turning a bright blue and lightning fluttering around them
Enishi blinked and found himself swallowed by endless black. No sound, no ground, just void. Then, out of the dark, a figure stepped forward, an old man holding a circle-curved katana, its blade glowing faintly red. On his finger, the same ring Enishi now wore… except he glowed like a burning sun.
The old man's voice echoed, steady and firm:
"Taiyou… change to Inazuma."
He tossed the sword toward Enishi. The moment Enishi caught it, the weapon twisted in his hands, the circular blade stretched straight, reshaping into a grasscutter katana. Sparks snapped and danced along its edge, the glow shifting from fire-red to storm-blue.
The old man gave a weary smile.
"Taiyou was my sun. But it has seen the end of its days with me. Now, with you… it is Inazuma. Lightning to burn your path forward."
Enishi tightened his grip, feeling the blade hum against his skin, almost rejecting him. "Why me?" he asked.
The old man's eyes softened as his form began to fade back into the darkness.
"Because no matter how many times you're broken down, boy… you'll keep standing. Remember this names change, wielders fall, but the ring always endures. Whether it saves you… or destroys you."
The last of his figure dissolved into the void, leaving Enishi alone with the sword. Its aura shocked his palm, searing a scar into his hand the mark of Inazuma.
After the Old man was out of sight and out of mind Enishi felt a tingle coming from the sword. He lifted it up to the dark black sky and with that it shocked him. Pain reeling through every part of Enishi's hand leaving the first scar to his palm
After looking at his palm he was transported back to his room with every inch of it covered in ashes and flames. The house had caught on fire and Enishi was standing in the core of it. Firefighters trying to put it out with Ayase, Enishi's mother crying right beside one.
Enishi, with flames all around him, doesn't panic, doesn't run, doesn't even flinch. He stands in his same position and accepts death, staring up with a smile. "Im, Im ok with this" he says closing his eyes. Just then the ring glows a right blue color. Enishi lifting his hand to stare at it feels in the bottom of his stomach something is gonna happen.
Just then he feels a deadly tingle in his legs. He screams in utter pain but his muscles operate without his command dashing at inhumane speeds luckily his window was on the bottom floor so when he jumped out of it, the collision wasn't that bad. Enishi, standing with his pants burning off to the electricity, but alive runs towards the sight of his mother and hugs her
Just then the pit he feels in his stomach comes back then.
BANG
Lightning hits him in his back
BANG BANG
Two more out of nowhere right after the first. Pushing his mother away so she doesn't get hurt he lays on his back in the dead of night in the center of a electricity made crater from the lightning while the light from the ring dims with Enishi's consciousness
