After so long wanting to awaken, I didn't know exactly how to react to it. I had cried, I had screamed, and now that I was done with all that, I didn't know what else to do. Somehow, I felt like I wasn't reacting enough, as if I wasn't grateful.
'But I am grateful.' I facepalmed with a long sigh. There was no reward in overthinking things. The goddess wouldn't take back the abilities she gave me, right? I hope not.
As if noticing the turmoil within me, Alpha, the system granted by the goddess, spoke out.

Somehow, that sounded worse than having the ability taken back. Yet, at that moment, I couldn't help but agree to her terms.
"Okay." The goddess could easily choose anyone to carry out her mission; I should be grateful that she even looked my way. Though, I won't lie, her chest was really soft.
I cleared my throat. "So, Alpha, what ability do I have? Fireball? Spatial magic? Invisibility…?"
Alpha paused for a long moment, then sighed. [You look like crap.]
What? "Wait, what does that have to do with anything?"
Alpha didn't even respond as a chiming sound echoed in my ear.

A surge of energy burst from within me as my skin began to itch terribly. Lather appeared out of nowhere, covering my body, then water cascaded from above, crashing onto me.
I gasped, struggling to catch my breath between the relentless waves. I had always wanted something to help me bathe, but this felt more like punishment than luxury.
After taking a long breath, the assault finally stopped, and a cool breeze blew against me, drying me off.
My white shirt, which had turned brown over the years, was now back to its original color. My skin smelled clean, and all the rashes and other ailments that had built up over the years had vanished. I didn't even need a mirror to know I looked different now.
