blinding exploding pain.
A pain so visceral, it left a lingering aftertaste on the soul _
That was the first thing Peter felt, as he's pulled out of the darkness.
Aaaaah!
Peter screamed in pain and rolled on the rocky floor _ as both his hands immediately reached for his back .
He caressed several old jutting lines on his back, and fresh new ones that stung when he touched them.
Then he saw it _ a long spiraling whip _ heading straight at him, as he was still wailing on the rocky floor.
Peter was still disoriented and confused, but he subconsciously understood that the descending whip was the architect of the excruciating pain he was presently experiencing.
Instinctively, he rolled over to his left _
But he wasn't looking properly and he slammed his skull against a rock and was almost knocked out, but he still held on _
As foreign memories _memories that weren't his _ of a life he never lived and a world he didn't know.
Very disturbing and painful memories began surfacing in his mind, as he held his head and screamed in pain _ rolling around the rocky grounds.
What the hell is going on!
Wasn't I at the conference for the launch of my new book ?!
All I can remember was going through my usual routine and then.... nothing !

And what kind of sad existence did he live ?
As Peter was holding his head crouched on the ground in the corner _
A burly man whose whip he had dodged earlier, was fuming in anger as he made his way over to Peter with the whip raised in the air _
Four other men and two women were also inside of the cave_ but they didn't dare raise their heads _ as they continued to focus on their mining.
"You worm! _ you dare dodge my whip ?!"
The burly man bellowed in anger as he made to strike yet again at Peter who was still crouched on the floor.
Just then, a young lady darted into the cave and ran straight in between the burly man and Peter who was on the floor.
"You better stop right now Chen Li" she screamed at the burly man as she was visibly shaking like a leaf
"Or I will report to supervisor Zhang that you've all been refusing to give Yuchen food!"
The burly man stopped immediately in his tracks, the whip inches away from tearing at the new girl's face who was standing between him and his prey.
'damn it, how did this ugly bitch find out ?! '
'no!, doesn't matter, I can't afford to exchange more words with her, lest things get complicated'
The burly man quickly reasoned in his mind as he slowly brought the whip back down _
"I don't know what nonsense you are talking about not giving him food _ but I will just leave this as a warning"
"Next time he is caught not working, he will be sent to confinement!" The burly man finished saying as he turned and started walking away.
"You damn Slaves better get back to work before I finished making my rounds"
After the burly man had gone out, the thoughts of the young girl was running amok _
'So they truly have been starving Yuchen!!'
'I was just guessing because I noticed the change in him ...'
As she thought of this, her face began to contort in anger _ gone was her former fear and trembling self.
'I must report this immediately.. '
But then she remembered something as she exclaimed and darted to the still crouched up Peter _
"Damn it!, Yuchen!, are you alright ? _ can you get up ? , am so sorry you.."
She was exclaiming as she began checking all over his body for injuries.
That's right ... Yuchen _ Yuchen Li.
That's the name of this body's previous owner.
From the memories of this body _
This world is called Wushen _ a cultivation world.
Divided into two continents for the two predominant races.
Xualian - human continent .
Tianyue - demonic continent.
The human continent consists of Four regions under one empire _ the Xualian Empire.
The empire presides directly over the central region of the continent and indirectly over the other regions.
while the north, south, east and west regions of the continent are presided over by the four great sects _
Heavenly Dao Sect to the north
Silent Bell Temple to the south
Emerald Cauldron Sect to the east
and Spirit beast mountain to the west.
All with minor branches in all other kingdoms on the continent.
But they possess more branches and have the most control over major resources in regions they preside over.
While their main headquarters are always hidden in secret locations, somewhere in their regions.
Not much is known about the demonic continent _ only that the human continent has been in continuous war with the demons since before anyone could remember.
And they were always threatening to expand through the borders between continents _ in which case, the sects that preside over those regions would have to subjugate them.
Peter was in the northern region of the continent _ and in the territory of the heavenly Dao Sect.
Inside a spirit crystal mine _ in a mid-class kingdom of the region.
The former owner of this body was confirmed to not have a spirit root for cultivation.
And he also possessed a very weak physical constitution.
He was thus sold as a slave by his parents for a few copper coins, to the heavenly Dao Sect branch in the kingdom _ who were actively working one of the very few spirit crystal mines in the region.
He had been keeping his head low and minding his business _ doing his work like the others in the mine.
But about a week ago, he began receiving just half the filth that passes for food for the slaves around here.
But since he was naturally scared, shy and timid _ no doubt thanks to the low self esteem he must have gotten from being sold as a slave by his parents _
He never reported the incident to anyone _ then two days ago _ the two guardians of the sector he mined at, stopped giving him any food at all.
And today, when he finally summoned the courage to voice his suffering to one of them _ he had received a resounding smack to the skull _ and the poor guy died immediately.
That's when Peter's soul entered the body _ and not knowing the boy was dead _ the guard was about to continue on to whip him silly for daring to speak against authority.
Ignoring the young girl who was talking around him _ Peter was shaking his head as he lay on the floor, looking at both his boney, lanky hands and legs _
He could actually see his bones underneath.
His clothes were shit brown, torn all over and looked like rags.
Then the sudden realization dawned on him _
How ? !
How did I get here ?
This isn't scientifically possible!
One moment I was on stage _ the next am this ?
Is this the power of a go_
Peter immediately shook his head vehemently _ he refused to finish that sentence _

Peter continued to murmur as he tried comforting himself.
The pain on his back and head was finally lessening, even though the injuries on his back would surely be seeing to his end soon if he doesn't seek medical attention _
But he steeled himself and for the first time, raised his head to look at the young lady who defended him earlier, and has been screaming his name _
And what a sight it was _ Peter almost jolted up in shock _
she was truly _ the most ugly person he had ever seen, throughout his almost forty years of life.
