Chapter 3 - the command

John was in the middle of a meeting at work when he felt a strange sensation wash over him. It was like a shiver ran down his spine, but it was more than that. It was as if something had clicked into place, and he was suddenly aware of a presence within him.

The presence spoke, its voice low and commanding: "You've been commanded to burn the house, let the trains melt like wax as the conductor's screams echo through the deserted streets." The words were absurd, but John knew he had to obey.

He tried to shake off the feeling, thinking it was just a weird daydream or a side effect of too much coffee. But the presence remained, its grip on his mind growing stronger.

The meeting ended, and John's coworkers began to file out of the room. John stayed seated, his mind reeling with the command. He felt a growing sense of unease, a creeping feeling that he was losing control.

As he sat there, the presence grew more insistent, urging him to get up and act. John tried to resist, but it was too strong. He stood up, his legs moving on autopilot, and walked out of the office building.
