Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Gate-Gate Fruit

"Where… am I?"

In a traditional Japanese-style room with tatami flooring, a boy slowly stirred awake. Opening his eyes, he looked around, dazed and confused.

"This… is the Naruto world?!"

A flood of unfamiliar memories surged through his mind. His name was Habu Sora, a war orphan of Konohagakure whose parents had died in the Second Great Ninja War.

At age seven, he'd already spent a year in the Ninja Academy. He was classmates with Might Guy, Sarutobi Asuma, and Uchiha Obito. Right now, it was summer break, the end of the academic year.

"Heavens above… why did I have to transmigrate into the Naruto world of all places?! Even if I'm in Konoha, the strongest village, there's still the looming Third Great Ninja War, the Nine-Tails' Rampage, Orochimaru's plan to destroy Konoha… Each one is a battlefield meat grinder where lives are as fragile as fallen leaves."

"In my previous life, I was just an ordinary student, i don't even know even a single self defense. Now I've ended up in this world without the Sharingan, no Sage Body, no Kekkei Genkai… how the hell am I supposed to survive?"

Just as Sora was seriously considering finding work at Ōtsutsuki Ichiraku's Ramen Shop during the holidays, something next to his bed caught his eye.

It was a fruit shaped like a dragon fruit, covered in intricate, spiraling patterns.

"Wait… is this… a Devil Fruit?!"

He sprang from the bed, grabbing it like a drowning man clutching driftwood.

"So the heavens have given me a chance after all."

In One Piece, Devil Fruits grant strange and miraculous powers. Many of them allow ordinary people to gain overwhelming strength without years of training.

If it was a Logia-type, then even better, just one of those and you'd be a powerhouse on par with Gaara.

Without hesitation, Sora took a big bite.

"Urgh, how can something taste this disgusting?!"

He nearly puked, the flavor so vile it made him gag, but he forced himself to swallow.

"Just one bite is enough to gain the power, right?"

Sora sat still and focused, trying to sense the fruit's energy. Suddenly, his eyes lit up.

It was the Gate-Gate Fruit!

The same one used by Blueno from CP9!

He remembered how disappointed he was in his past life watching One Piece, such a rare spatial ability wasted on a mere mid-tier villain.

With this fruit, the user could open a door on any surface they touched, walls, safes, even fire, and pass through. That alone would make it a decent Paramecia.

But its true power lay in the ability to open doors in the air itself, stepping into an overlapping dimensional space. From there, the user could evade attacks or reposition for a surprise ambush. Then, by opening a door at any location, they could re-emerge and strike.

In essence, this was eerily similar to Uchiha Obito's Kamui.

Sora's heart surged with joy. After all, in Naruto, Obito's Kamui was what made him such a terrifying final boss, able to run rampant while even the Five Great Nations' top shinobi stood helpless.

He couldn't wait. Stretching his hand forward, a glowing air door materialized in front of him.

He opened it and stepped through, finding himself in a green-tinted dimension identical to the real world.

Taking a few cautious steps forward, he noticed something astonishing: his movement speed in this space was nearly double that of the real world.

Opening another air door ahead, he stepped back into reality, but the moment his foot hit the ground, his legs gave out, nearly collapsing.

"That chakra drain is insane…"

His chakra reserves had been drained to empty in an instant, leaving his body completely depleted.

"I see. This ability is powerful, but if I want to really make use of it, I'll need way more chakra… and actual combat strength to back it up."

For now, the fruit's ability would have to be his hidden trump card, not something to use lightly.

Maybe down the line, I can develop a fighting style like Minato's, blending speed, spatial movement, and ambush tactics… Sora sank into thought.

"Sora! We came to see you!"

"You're awake!"

"Sora-kun, how are you feeling?"

Voices called from the doorway as three children burst into the room. The first had a bowl-cut, thick eyebrows, gleaming white teeth, and a green jumpsuit. The second had black hair, goggles, and a friendly smile. The third had soft black curls and alluring crimson eyes.

They were his classmates, future taijutsu master Might Guy, future schemer Uchiha Obito, and future jōnin Yūhi Kurenai.

"Guy, Obito, Kurenai… what brings you here?"

"We heard you fainted from overtraining. Of course we had to check on you!" Kurenai's wide, sparkling eyes blinked with concern.

"Yeah, Sora," Obito added. "You took on Uchiha Shū from the third-years to stand up for us. Since then, you've been training like crazy. We really don't know how to thank you."

"Perhaps… this is the fire of youth!" Guy shouted with tears in his eyes, giving a thumbs-up as his teeth gleamed with dramatic flair.

"Wait… I challenged Uchiha Shū?"

Sora's memories caught up with him, and his heart sank.

On the last day of term, Shū, a third-year prodigy from the Uchiha clan, had been bullying Guy, Obito, and Kurenai. Justice burning in his heart, Sora had stepped in and declared that he'd fight Shū one-on-one at the opening ceremony next semester.

Was I out of my mind?! That's not something a bottom-tier student should be doing!

Where was Kakashi? Oh right, he just graduated and is probably out catching cats or doing trash cleanup D-rank missions…

Sora held his head, now pounding with regret.

Uchiha Shū was the top of the third year, an elite among elites.

How could a bottom-tier like him possibly win in just one month? He was behind in strength, taijutsu, and even basic ninja skills. With his current state, it wasn't just a matter of hiding his Gate-Gate powers, even using them wouldn't guarantee victory.

"Sora-kun, are you feeling unwell? Do you want us to take you to the hospital?" Kurenai asked, noticing him holding his head.

"I… just want to be alone for a bit."

"Who's Alone?" Guy asked, genuinely confused.

"Uh… I mean, I think I'm still feeling a little off. I need a few days to rest quietly."

"Okay then, Sora-kun. You overtrained because of us. Please get plenty of rest this time," Kurenai said sweetly.

"Yeah! Get well soon! I want to sweat through youth with you!" Guy's teeth sparkled again.

"Hmm? What's this?"

Obito had noticed the half-eaten fruit sitting nearby.

"Ah… just a random fruit."

"It looks weird. Can I try it?"

Before Sora could stop him, Obito had already taken a huge bite.

"BLECH, what is this?! It tastes worse than poop!"

He grabbed a table, retching uncontrollably.
