The rain had stopped by morning, leaving the air in Rarang cool and damp.
Alya met Ardan again near the rice fields the same place where they first met, but now everything felt heavier.
Ardan was kneeling by the muddy ground, holding his camera.
"There's something under here," he said quietly.
Alya frowned. "What do you mean?"
He showed her the newest photo on his camera. It was taken in the dark but in the image, faintly, there was a shape beneath the water.
A wooden box.
"I didn't take this photo," Ardan murmured. "But it appeared last night."
They exchanged a glance. Alya's heart pounded.
"Then we have to see what's inside."
Together they dug through the wet earth until the edge of the box showed. It was old, its surface covered with moss.
When Ardan slowly opened it, a soft click echoed like a lock releasing after years.
Inside was a stack of faded letters and photographs.
Each one showed the same people from Ardan's wall smiling, alive.
And in every letter, the same phrase appeared again and again:
> "Rarang will remember us."
Alya shivered. "What does that mean?"
Before Ardan could answer, the wind suddenly rose cold, sharp, unnatural.
And from the rice field came a whisper, so faint it was almost a breath:
> "Don't let it happen again."
Alya grabbed Ardan's arm. "Did you hear that?"
He nodded, pale. "Yes… and I think it's not the first time Rarang has tried to warn us."
