Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Note: This will be pretty AU for DXD. Power and Lore-wise. Some characters, too, but I will try and stick to what I remember from the light novels to some extent. I only read up to the stuff with Ingvild appearing. And even that was a while ago.

But the main thing to know is that the power scale is going WAY up.

Note 2: I am also Dyslexic, and while I use Grammarly and google docs spell and grammar check, there bound to be a mistake or two, but do just ignore it as I can't do anything about it.

Akasha of The Void - Chapter 1

[1st POV]

'I never would have expected that going to sleep would bring me here. A blank, empty, white void. One cultured enough would know this is leading to the cliche isekai set-up, but of course, when it comes to my turn in the cosmic lottery.

It makes so much sense for the cosmos to screw me over.

I know this is not a dream; I can't tell if I'm dead or not, as my body is here with me, albeit naked, but at least the void isn't cold, nor is it too hot. It's a comfortable feeling.

But how do I know this is not a dream, nor the isekai set-up?

Well, I'll tell you. I counted.

I counted how long I have been here, and so far the count is this number.

842,156,235,523,956,441 seconds.

Yeah, a long fucking time, I lost count a few times and restarted quite a bit, but that is the largest I got to.

No god, no omnipotent being coming to whisk me away on some Isekai journey or to some hell journey where I become some edgy guy seeking revenge at the end of it all.

Just me, alone, in this white infinite void with no indication that I am anywhere except for the fact that there is ground under my feet, but because of the void, no shadows anywhere, so I feel like I'm just floating most of the time.

Heck, I even tried to lick the ground because I was bored enough to try anything, but it tasted like nothing, only feeling that I was licking something.

…Don't judge me, you would too if you had lived billions of years in a white void and did anything to not go insane, just like how I think I became schizophrenic as I am literally talking to no one, but acting like someone is there.

Okay, enough with the insane despair talk. How about I tell you about the few things I can do since I came here?

Because a few things were pretty cool, had I not been stuck in this void. I can fly, or at least I think it's flying. I literally tore off my arm and started to use it as a land marker. Yeah, I can also regenerate any part of my body, don't ask how I found that out, it's not a good story…'

While I continued to talk to no one as a way to stop myself from going insane, in the white infinite void, by a 100% coincidence, a crack appeared a few hundred meters away from me, and it made me freeze.

"Huh?" I questioned while I turned and looked at the crack, something actually happened, and it might just be the thing to get me out of this hell.

In an instant, without even realising, I had vanished from my position and appeared in front of the crack and started to examine it.

"Is this… A way out?" And since I can regenerate, I stuck my arm straight into the open part of the crack.

Immediately, I felt a suction force start pulling on me, and despite the pain of my body being squeezed, crushed and pulled through a tiny gap, I felt immense joy at the time, only caring that something different was happening.

And before I knew it, I was gone, and all that was left behind was an empty white void, filled with severed arms, pools of dried blood and the remnants of my insanity.

[3rd POV]

It was a peaceful day in Kuoh town. A rarity compared to the usual happenings of the town.

But of course, something just had to happen. Just below the cloud line, a crack appeared, a massive sprawling crack that stretched out across the entire town and beyond.

And bringing with it a repulsive and ominous energy that not only alerted the town and surrounding inhabitants, but also anyone else who was unfortunate enough to feel such a change in the world.

And from that crack came a figure, one that was impossible for anyone, even the two dragons alerted to the occurrence, to sense was spat from it and plummeted to the Earth on the outskirts of the town.

[1st POV]

I only regained consciousness to open my eyes to a blue sky… WAIT!

I shot up from my spot and looked around: trees, grass, dirt, rocks, sky, clouds, birds, insects, smells, sound, everything.

A tear unconsciously fell from my eye as I realised I was somewhere, not a void, not that hell hole, but a place that resembled my memories of home.

"I'm… back…?"

[3rd POV]

While our protagonist was coming around to existing again, at a certain occult club, nine figures were gathered. A red-haired woman with a body that definitely does not match her age looked to the man before her, who was her brother.

"B-Brother. W-what was t-t-that?" She stuttered and shivered, remembering that repulsive feeling from a few minutes ago.

Her brother glanced at her before looking at the now crackless sky with a frown. "I don't know. Serafall is already meeting with the gods, and Ajuka is trying to analyse the phenomena."

He turned back to his sister and the rest of her peerage; they, too, just like his sister, Rias. Where also trembling; he can't blame them either, he too shivered the moment he teleported over with his maid, Grayfia.

"But until we know something, I will stay here." His words brought assurance to his sister, who made a face he knew all too well, 'She really does rely on me too much.' He frowned and looked at Grayfia, "Go to Sona and her peerage and bring them here, Serafall will have my head if something happens to her."

Grayfia nods, and a magic circle appears under her, and she teleports away.

He looks to the sky once more, a frown stuck on his face. 'Just what in the satan was that?'

[1st POV]

For the first time in who knows how long, I laughed with joy. I was still naked, but I didn't care. I ran through the forest, taking in everything I could: the feeling of dirt, grass and leaves beneath my feet, the wind on my face, the smell of grass and dirt. Even the sight of anything that isn't white felt like the most beautiful sight to me.

But as the trees went by in a blur, I realised something. 'I'm running way too fast.' I instantly come to a stop and turn around, my eyes somehow could see that in the far distance lay the exact crater I came from, 'But that is miles away at least.'

My excitement for returning to existence was replaced by an immense sense of curiosity to experiment. I had gained a lot of things in those billions of years, and now that I have somewhere I can see it, 'I might as well try something, right?'

I looked to the nearest tree, which was at least eleven meters tall, pretty old looking too. 'My condolences.' I think before cocking my arm back and driving my fist into the tree.

Wind whistles, and the moment my fist makes contact with the trunk, a small boom rings out as the part I punched the tree vanished like it never existed, and not just that, many trees behind it and the surrounding ground itself are torn from the earth, destroyed for tens of meters.

I blink, "That is definitely not a normal human's strength… but what else did I expect from myself, a man who was stuck there for however many billions of years? I'm probably older than the universe was when I appeared there.'

I look at my fist and see nothing wrong with it, completely normal. I relaxed my fist before clenching it immediately after, and a small boom came from the action. 'Am I really some kind of superhuman now? Sure, I am old, but that could just be some soul bullshit… forget it.'

I threw out the thought and decided to test what I think is flight. And as you would expect, I lifted off the ground into the air above the tree line before stopping and just hovering there. "I can really fly, huh?"

I take the chance to look around the area, mountains, mountains and civilization. Buildings, power lines, roads, cars, everything I know of civilization is there, just a town rather than a city. I felt the urge to just take off towards it and crash down into the centre of it,

But that would not only cause a commotion, it would also scare off the people who I want to talk to. I haven't interacted with another person for so long, and I just hope I don't have issues talking to people after being alone for such a long time.

With that in mind, I gently set off towards the town, still not aware that being naked is not normal; it is only normal for me, considering all the time I spent in that place naked. A problem to be dealt with by me in the future.

[3rd POV]

Takamagahara

"What the hell was that?!" A random god shouted to all the other gods in attendance.

The host of this attendance, Amaterasu, the Shinto God Queen, was sitting atop her throne. If it could even be called that, as it was more of a comfortable chair with pillows and everything, just on an elevated platform.

She was deep in thought; she hadn't noticed anything that could have caused, nor came from the fissure, but that feeling that made her, a God Queen, shiver, was definitely something that required absurd levels of attention.

She almost descended the moment she felt it, an action that would not only cause issues with the pact but would also burn every being but those under the protection of Sirzechs and Grayfia to ash with her mere presence.

While Amaterasu was in thought, the rest of the gods gathered looked at her

"Lady Amaterasu, how do we respond?"

Amaterasu was pulled from her thoughts and opened her eyes and looked to the god who asked her.

"We can't. Kuoh and its surroundings are under devil territory for four more years. The Leviathan is already questioning us for involvement in the incident." She rested her chin in her hand and sighed.

"And it's not like we need to do anything, Lucifer, his queen and Beelzebub are present there as is." She then started to stretch a little and yawned, she had been exhausted since feeling that ominous aura, both mentally and physically.

And in sync, the audience of gods sighed.

They had taken her action as her being lazy, it wouldn't be the first time either, Kuoh itself was an example of her being too lazy to negotiate with the Leviathan that she just gave it to them for 10 years.

The rest of the meeting proceeded with Tsukiyomi standing in for Amaterasu while he and the rest of the gods discussed some precautions they would take, just in case everything blows up.

[1st POV]

Kuoh Outskirts

I landed behind a building, making sure no one saw me in the process. Who knows if everyone has superhuman powers or I'm just a special case, either way it's better not to expose myself… more than I already am anyway.

I was just about to walk out into the open when I caught my reflection on a piece of scrap metal from some randomly dumped garbage.

I had forgotten I was still naked, not that it bothered me, but I remember clothes being a big part of my life.

But then there's the question. 'Where do I find some?'

It was then, while I was thinking how to get some clothes that a strangely soothing voice called out to me.

"Found you!"

I turned back and saw a green light come up from the ground.

And when the light vanished, I saw a beautiful woman with long green hair, a body that perfectly fit this world, all covered by a green plant like dress.

I raised a brow at her, this was new, I guess I'm not the only superhuman individual on Earth, if this even is Earth.

Either way, I wonder why this woman was looking for me? The "Found you!" Kind of gave it away.

[3rd POV]

It was the usual everyday for Yggdrassil. She would deal with keeping the Earth running, maintaining the realms and telling Odin to piss off every time he came to suggest the Norse pantheon became her guardians.

Sure Odin's surprisingly kind for a God-King with so much power, but she doesn't need anyone else but Great Red as her guardian. GR already protects the dimensional gap, adding herself into the mix was only natural.

But today, it changed massively. She didn't know how, but a crack appeared on Earth. Something that led to a realm outside of the universe from the short glimpse she could get.

And not even a minute later and the crack was fixed and the ominous energy that came with it too.

Yggdrassil had hoped that would be it, but as is with anything, something had to happen. Yggdrassil sensed a being she never had before, and this being carried that ominous energy. And Yggdrassil being the world tree of Earth, she knows everything that happens on the planet with only the various pantheons and their hells and paradises being the exception.

She debated sending Níðhöggr, but the reckless dragon would just devour everything if she did.

'Hah, if you want something done right, you've got to do it yourself.' With that thought, she sent out an avatar to appear by this intruder on her world.

Now we're here. Yggdrassil in her avatar looking at the one responsible for sending her into a fit of paranoia.

'He's…human?' That confused her, she was expecting some kind of monster that you would find in the Gap, but he was just a human, a dangerous human, but still human.

"Who are you?" She thought to ask. But once she did so, the human before her just stared at her, as if he hadn't heard her.

She was just about to ask again when he spoke, "Akasha."

"Akasha?" She tilted her head.

He nodded. "Mmm, Akasha Solara."

[1st POV]

I guess I do have some kind of issue talking to people then. Heck I can't even ask for her name. Ugh, I thought talking to myself would stop this kind of thing from happening!

But beside that, I'm more intrigued by seeing another person for the first time in so long, hearing them speak to me, a voice that wasn't my own, felt so soothing to the soul that I feel like passing out in happiness.

When you go as long as I have without hearing anything but your own voice, breathing, heartbeat and blood splatter, hearing another's voice would be the equivalent of waking up in a good mood, an impossibly good thing.

As I was musing in my thoughts, the green-haired woman asked me another question. "Did you make the crack in the sky? Why are you here?"

Crack? Does she mean the one I used to get here? If it caused the sky to crack open, maybe. "Maybe, I woke up in a crater in the forest. As for why I'm here. I just wanted to leave that place and return."

I saw that she went into thought for a moment before nodding to herself and extended her hand towards me.

"Okay, Akasha. I'm Yggdrassil, do you mind coming with me while we get the consequences of your arrival sorted."

I looked at her hand and to her with a blank stare. Yggdrassil, THE WORLD TREE from mythology?? Yeah, why not, might as well throw in gods, demons and the rest of the supernatural roster too.

…I mean, it's not the worst idea to go with her right? Yeah she could be lying, but there's not much else for me to do, who knows if I can escape from here, I have no clue what is going on in the world. Yep, it's best I go with her, for now anyway.

"Alright." I said and grabbed her outstretched hand, she smiled softly and with a green light, we vanished.

[3rd POV]

The first thing Akasha saw was a pristine forest that looked magical somehow. At the centre of said forest stood an enormous tree, its size exceeding that of Everest by many times over. His jaw dropped cartoonishly, 'So it is real.'

Yggdrassil saw his expression and felt proud of herself. It sainted her ego to see that expression whenever beings see her true form.

But now that both were in her domain, she could sense more about Akasha, and to say she was shocked would lie, she was questioning existence, for what she sensed from Akasha goes against the entirety of existence.

'His soul is purer than Great Red and the Ouroboros(Ophis)! How is that even possible?? Those have been around since the beginning of the Universe! And this human has a soul purer than beings that are close to becoming the embodiment of concepts. This is madness.'

And Yggdrassil for the first time in her billions of years of life, got a headache processing this fact.

She had a distinct feeling that nothing will be the same again.
