Sandy's POV
Waking up unconscious from random incidents was getting old fast. This was becoming an exhausting pattern in my life.
I groaned as I dragged myself to the bathroom and borrowed another one of Charles' shirts from his massive walk-in closet. My mood was sour. The throbbing in my skull refused to ease, creating a constant drumbeat of pain behind my eyes.
"Taylor?" I pressed my fingertips against my temples, trying to reach out to my wolf.
Nothing but silence greeted me.
"I know you can hear me. Why won't you respond?" I demanded through our mental link.
Still, she remained stubbornly quiet.
This silence ate at me. Taylor had always been my constant companion, speaking to me even during our darkest moments. She had only withdrawn like this once before when Dominic first betrayed me with Kari.
