Chapter 12 - Trial of the Voidstream

A surge of dark energy rolled through Elystria Prime like a living storm. The Abyss Order's allies had begun using Voidstream—a forbidden energy capable of bending dimensions and rewriting probability—against the city. Buildings flickered between realities, streets twisted, and gravity became inconsistent in patches.

Mitsui stumbled as the air around her shimmered, her Soulflux reacting violently. Threads of probability tangled, showing potential collapses, attacks, and chaotic pathways.

"Kiyoto…" she gasped, her golden-brown eyes wide. "It's… too much. I can't—"

"You can," Kiyoto interrupted, stepping beside her. His aura flared in response to the distorted Voidstream. The Infinity Crown pulsed, radiating an invisible shield that stabilized the warped reality around them. "Focus. Don't fight it—flow with it. Let your Soulflux guide you. The Voidstream can be manipulated if you understand its rhythm."

Mitsui clenched her fists, closing her eyes. She reached out with her mind, letting the threads of probability weave into the swirling energy around her. The Voidstream tried to twist her senses, but she adapted, bending the chaotic flow slightly in her favor.

"Good…" Kiyoto's voice was calm but edged with intensity. "Now, counter it. Turn their chaos against them."

A wave of shadowy attackers surged from the warped streets, striking unpredictably. Mitsui moved, her illusions multiplying, manipulating probability to make each strike miss entirely or collide with another. Sparks of dark energy exploded harmlessly around her.

Kiyoto's Pulse Mode Ascendant flared fully, his golden-white aura slicing through the Voidstream with precise strikes. The Infinity Crown bent probability, making impossible attacks fail before they began.

One of the attackers, a tall figure with eyes of void, lunged directly at Mitsui. Time seemed to slow as she extended her Soulflux threads, predicting the strike's trajectory and redirecting the energy mid-air. The attacker staggered, clearly shocked.

"You… you're manipulating probability with Soulflux…" it hissed.

Mitsui's eyes glowed brighter. "I've learned from the best. Don't underestimate us!"

Even as the first wave fell, Kiyoto sensed a deeper disturbance. Threads of Voidstream twisted into impossible patterns, forming a vortex that reached for the Infinity Crown itself.

"They're trying to consume the Crown's probability," Kiyoto said, tightening his grip on Silent Dawn. "If they succeed… the balance of all realms could collapse."

Mitsui's Soulflux flared in perfect harmony with Kiyoto's aura. She reached into the Voidstream vortex, weaving her threads with his, bending the impossible energy. Slowly, the vortex stabilized, the chaotic energy neutralized.

When the dust settled, the attackers lay defeated, the streets of Elystria Prime intact once more. Mitsui staggered, her aura flickering but steady.

"You… did it," Kiyoto said, pride evident in his voice. "You've passed your first trial with the Voidstream. But remember… this was only a glimpse. The deeper you go, the stronger it becomes, and the more dangerous the enemies who wield it."

Mitsui nodded, determination blazing. "I'll get stronger. I won't let the Voidstream—or anyone—destroy our balance."

> The Abyss Order's power had escalated, revealing the deadly nature of Voidstream. But Mitsui and Kiyoto had survived, and in doing so, Mitsui's control over probability and Soulflux had grown exponentially. The trials were only beginning, and the storm of convergence was far from over.
