Thanks to Hisamori-san's presence, the after-school hours were more lively than usual.
Ever since becoming friends with Hime, there's been some kind of incident or new encounter almost every week. But the past week has been peaceful and relaxing, so perhaps the backlash is finally starting to hit.
A lot of things happened today.
"--What a disaster! Hime-chan, Yo-hee, something terrible has happened. We're going to hold a meeting of the concerned sisters!!"
Hoshimiya Hijiri hurriedly ran into the classroom.
It was still around 5pm. He had arrived earlier than usual, which surprised both Hime and I.
"Hijiri-san, you're early today."
"What happened to your work at the student council?"
We both tilted our heads in confusion, and to our surprise, she answered the question.
"Apparently, they're on a break from exams. You know, the student council members are really talented, aren't they? They want to study hard during exams, so I think they decided to wrap up work today."
What an information network.
Hisamori, who was on all fours at Hime's feet, was probably in the newspaper club... or perhaps she simply had a lot of friends. She seemed to have a lot of information about the school. She even seemed to know about the student council.
"Huh? Hisamori-chan is here too. Yay!"
"Yay!"
Yay!
As soon as they met, the two exchanged high fives. They had said earlier that they knew each other, but... it seemed they were closer than I had imagined.
Both Hisamori and Kiyoshi have cheerful personalities, so they probably get along well.
I also somehow understand why Hime isn't so shy around Hisamori. Maybe it's because Hisamori is similar to Hijiri, so she's used to him.
That's why I'm grateful that a plain person like me was able to become friends with them...but that's a self-deprecating thought that's not very popular these days, so let's leave it at that.
"But that's not it. We're having a security meeting, so everyone pay attention!"
Saying this, Hijiri stood in front of us with his arms crossed.
He has his arms crossed, his lips pressed tightly together, and a serious expression on his face.
"...Should I leave my seat?"
And Hisamori-san was very good at reading the mood for this character. She's a good girl... She can be a little thick-skinned, but she seems to know when to quit.
"No, it's okay. You can listen to it, Kumori-chan."
However, it seems that Kiyoshi doesn't care about Hisamori.
Hmm, what does that mean? If she was only consulting Hime, then I thought maybe there was some personal issue, so I should be considerate too... but what kind of issue is it that she doesn't care about even though she's a stranger to me and Hisamori?
His face looked more serious than usual, or perhaps even formal.
Thinking that some kind of incident might have occurred, I also felt a little tense.
"Ryo, I understand."
Hisamori-san finally got up from his hands and knees, and there was no one left to mess around with. Now then, what was Kiyoshi-san trying to say?
"If I fail the test, my summer vacation will be gone! What should I do?!"
...I see. I've been fooled.
The person who called the emergency meeting was the one who was being the most ridiculous.
"I thought that would be the case."
As expected of a younger sister, Hime seemed to have predicted what Hijiri would say and shrugged her shoulders in amazement.
Meanwhile, Hisamori and I were on guard, so we could only smile wryly at Hijiri's self-inflicted remark.
