Chapter 112 - Spoiling
Fu jian walked out of the tall glass building, his steps calm but his gaze sharp as it swept across the crowd gathered at the entrance. At first, all he saw were familiar faces—employees, guards, curious onlookers—but then, his eyes landed on Bai xia.
The moment he saw her standing there with her arms crossed, his heart tightened.
He didn't hesitate even one second.
He strode toward her quickly, his long legs carrying him over in just a few steps. But before he could even open his mouth to speak—
Pa!
Bai xia slapped him hard across the face, since she couldn't hit his injured arm.
The sound was loud and crisp, echoing sharply in the open space.
"I called you over an hour ago," Bai xia snapped angrily, her eyes blazing, "and you only know how to come out now! Any moment less, I would have already turned into a shrimp under this sun!"
Fu jian stood frozen for a second, stunned—but not angry.
Instead, worry and panic flashed through his eyes.
"I'm sorry, my love," he said immediately in a low, coaxing voice. "It won't happen again. Let me see if you're burned anywhere."
He lifted his hand, wanting to touch her face gently.
Smack!
Bai xia hit his hand away without hesitation.
When the surrounding people saw this scene, their blood ran cold.
Especially Lu Tiang.
Her face drained of all color. Her legs turned weak, and she subconsciously took a step back.
The guards who had blocked Bai xia earlier were even more terrified. They stood stiff like statues, their hearts pounding wildly. They finally understood one terrifying truth—
This woman was really the CEO's woman.
But what confused them was—
Bai xia had only been standing outside for five minutes at most… and it was already almost 6:00 p.m. The sun was no longer scorching at all.
Yet they couldn't dare to argue.
Fu jian knew Bai xia was truly furious. When she was angry like this, she never directed her rage at him directly—she always let someone else suffer instead.
And he… could not withstand her anger.
He suddenly turned his cold gaze toward the security guards.
"Don't you see she is my wife?" his voice thundered. "Why didn't you let her in? Go pack your things and leave!"
The security guards' legs gave out instantly.
They almost dropped to their knees on the spot.
"Fu jian!" Bai xia slapped his arm angrily. "Stop messing around!"
Fu jian tried to pull her into his arms again, but she still pushed him away.
"I'm not going to marry you anymore!"
The moment those words fell—
Fu jian's heart panicked.
His pupils shrank slightly.
He immediately turned back to the security guards again, furious. "Come on! Go down and give my wife fifty pushups!"
Without daring to resist, the guards immediately dropped to the ground and started doing pushups with trembling arms.
Fu jian turned back to Bai xia again, completely changing his expression.
"Wife, don't be angry, okay?" he said softly, trying to please her. "Why don't you give me a smile?"
Bai xia was so annoyed she almost laughed in anger.
Instead of asking her who bullied her, he was punishing random people!
"Fu jian," she said angrily, her chest rising and falling, "you don't love me at all! You even have a secret girlfriend behind my back!"
As she spoke, she lifted her finger and pointed directly at Lu Tiang.
Lu Tiang felt her scalp explode.
Her face turned as white as paper.
Fu jian followed Bai xia's finger and glanced at Lu Tiang. His gaze darkened instantly—cold, sharp, and merciless.
He didn't even bother wasting words on her.
He turned to his assistant. "Ruan Jing."
Ruan Jing immediately stepped forward. "Yes, sir."
"Dismiss her," Fu jian said coldly. "And sue her for defamation."
"Yes, sir."
The people behind Lu Tiang went completely silent, quiet as mice.
Lu Tiang herself was terrified.
She rushed forward in panic. "Brother Jian! You told my mother you'd take care of me—!"
Fu jian cut her off without a shred of patience.
"I told your mother I'd give you a job," his voice was icy. "But instead of working, you spread rumors. I wouldn't have let you work here at all if it wasn't for my mother. I never made any promise to you or your mother. Don't test my patience."
Lu Tiang's face twisted with embarrassment and resentment.
"But Brother Jian… when did you get a fiancée? Aren't you scared your mother will disagree?"
Bai xia had already had enough of her nonsense.
"That's none of your business," she said coldly.
"You—!" Lu Tiang flared in anger.
"Enough," Fu jian's voice cut her off sharply like a blade.
"Leave this place immediately," he said colder than ice, "before I give you a harsher punishment."
Lu Tiang stomped her foot unwillingly, her eyes red with grievance—but she didn't dare to say another word.
She turned and ran away.
Fu jian turned back to Bai xia immediately, his entire attitude changing again.
"My love, are you happy now?" he asked softly. "Are you hungry? Do you want to eat something…"
"I feel wronged," Bai xia suddenly said in a low voice.
Her eyes instantly reddened.
Fu jian's heart clenched tightly.
He immediately turned back toward the security guards again.
"Do another thirty rounds."
The guards who were already shaking from the previous punishment almost fainted—but they didn't dare refuse. They continued doing pushups with trembling arms.
"They are not the ones who bullied me," Bai xia said, frowning. "Why are you punishing them?"
Fu jian immediately changed his words without hesitation.
"Do another ten rounds to express your thanks to my wife for saving your jobs."
The security guards were overjoyed.
As they did each pushup, they shouted sincerely—
"Thank you, Mrs. Fu!"
"Thank you, Mrs. Fu!"
Fu jian turned back to Bai xia again.
This time—
She suddenly jumped straight into his arms.
"I've been bullied," she said with a shaky voice. "I was called a fox spirit… someone even spit on me… and they called you an old man."
The temperature around Fu jian dropped instantly.
His eyes turned terrifying.
"Who dares?" His voice was cold enough to freeze blood.
The office workers who had been behind Lu Tiang earlier panicked instantly. Their faces turned pale—they had only called her a fox spirit, not the rest!
But Bai xia's next words made them relax slightly.
"It was in an antique shop not far from here," she said softly. "She even asked security to chase me out."
Fu jian's lips curved into a dangerous smile.
"Let's go there," he said calmly. "I'll seek justice for you, my love."
Hand in hand, Bai xia and Fu jian walked away together.
They left behind—
Frozen guards.
Terrified employees.
Whispering onlookers.
And people who were still struggling to process what they had just seen.
Was that really the cold and distant CEO they knew?
Who knew he had such a terrifyingly affectionate side?
