Chapter 31 - Pregnant.

Chapter 31:

The Elven Realm

"Your Majesty, a letter came in from the Werewolf Realm," the messenger announced.

King Johnson frowned. "The Werewolf Realm? They're aware of us now? They know other realms exist? What do they want—another war?"

"No, Your Majesty, it's not like that at all. They need help," the messenger clarified.

"Help?" a voice interjected. A man with golden hair and red eyes stepped forward—it was Erin's grandfather, who was currently in the Elven Realm.

"Why would they need help? I suggest we just leave them to their problems."

"Michael, can I at least read the letter that was sent?" the king asked.

"Sure, Your Majesty," Michael replied.

King Johnson chuckled and collected the letter from the messenger. As he opened it, his expression shifted from rigid to grave.

Michael noticed the change. "What's in the letter, John?"

The king's voice was low and tense. "He's back… Roosevelt has awakened from his slumber."

Michael froze. "What?! Roosevelt is awake? I thought he would remain in slumber forever. Why is this chaos awake again?"

King Johnson shook his head. "I don't know. But we have to help. If not, Roosevelt and his demons will hunt the other realms too—including your realm, the Vampire Realm, and even the Elven Realm. The witches can still protect themselves with their barriers and spells, but contacting them has been difficult. They'll likely come to us once they learn Roosevelt has awakened. For now, our focus is the main issue. We'll send a reply to the Werewolves and tell them we'll arrive in two days. We need time to prepare our armies, and they must prepare accommodations. Our population will be substantial—because you're coming with me, Michael."

"Of course I'm coming. I'll send a message to Leo, my son. He should gather some of our strongest warriors. And we're only going to war with Roosevelt because of what he did."

"I know, Michael," the king replied. "What he did was horrible. Forget that for now—I heard your granddaughter, the creator of the Goldren, is back."

"Yes, she's back. Johnson, are you suggesting I let Erin go to war with us?" Michael asked.

"Yes. Her Goldrens are powerful, and they could be invaluable on the battlefield. We also need her help. Can you send a message to her?"

Michael shook his head. "No, that's too risky. I don't want to involve Erin. She just returned, hasn't regained all her memories, and hasn't unlocked her full powers. It would be dangerous—I don't want her to get hurt again."

King Johnson sighed. "Friend, I understand how you feel. But how sure are you that she doesn't want to go? Ask her. Tell her the Werewolf Realm is in danger and about to collapse. See if she's willing to follow us and fight."

"Fine. I'll let her know," Michael said.

Michael immediately sent a message to his son, Leo—the current Vampire King and Erin's father—and personally sent a letter to Erin. He knew Leo would not want his daughter to go to war again.

Meanwhile, King Johnson sent a reply to the Werewolf Realm:

"We understand your situation. We will arrive in two days. Prepare accommodations for us—enough to house many people, as three races will be coming."

The Werewolf Realm

Levi's POV

"Three races?" I muttered, confused. I had just received the letter from the pack seer. Micha and I were trying to understand it. Does that mean we'll be hosting three races—the Elves and the Witches? I wasn't sure if the Vampires were coming, but it seemed likely—they were the only other race we knew of.

I turned to Micha. "Why don't we ask the book? It said the Vampires wouldn't go to war with their kind. Maybe we're missing something."

"Good idea," Micha agreed. "Let's go to my room."

I nodded to the pack seer, and Micha and I left.

When we arrived, I expected the book to be open, pages flipping as usual, but the room was silent—dead silent. Micha and I exchanged nervous glances.

I approached the book, tapped on it—it didn't respond.

"Um… hi," Micha said nervously.

I kept tapping, but nothing happened.

"Why isn't this book opening? We really need it now," Micha said urgently.

"Maybe it'll open tomorrow," I said, trying to sound hopeful despite my worry.

A call came in for Micha. I recognized the number—it was Kira.

"Hey, love," Micha answered.

Instead of a greeting, he heard her crying. Micha tensed instantly. I could feel his anguish , the mate bond—it was as if her pain reached straight into him.

"What happened?" I asked quietly.

He hung up, looking distraught. "She just asked me to come home. I have to go now, Levi. We'll talk later."

"What do you mean you have to go now? We're definitely going together. I hope everything's okay with Kira."

I drove to Micha's house , micha was in a daze, clearly distracted. Thirty minutes later, we arrived at his house. He rushed inside, and I followed, hoping Kira was safe.

Inside, I saw her sobbing. Micha went to her immediately.

"My love, what happened? Did anything bad happen?" he asked.

With tears streaming down her face, Kira said, "No, it's not something bad… it's just… it's not the right time. I'm… pregnant."

Micha froze. I froze. It was wonderful news, but the timing was worrying. I feared for Micha and Kira—could he protect his unborn child during the impending war?

Micha held her hands. "Kira, this is wonderful news! I'm happy, truly happy. I'll do everything I can to protect both of you during the war."

"But you don't understand," Kira sobbed. "I pushed you into this. If anything happens to the child, it's my fault. We could have waited a few years…"

"It's okay, love. No more tears. It's alright. You really scared me," Micha reassured her.

She wiped her eyes and looked at me, surprised.

"Alpha, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to bother you…"

"It's okay, Kira. And congratulations! Micha and I will do everything we can to protect the baby. I'm going to be an uncle—great news for me too! Don't worry too much. Our allies are coming soon. We won't fight this war alone. We will survive. Everything will be fine."

We stayed for a while, talking and joking. I added, "Oh, by the way, inform Zaki and Kate. Zaki will be thrilled to be an uncle, and Kate will shower you with affection."

They both chuckled. I smiled and said, "I have to go now. It's getting late."

Micha hugged me, and Kira thanked me. As we walked to my car, I said, "You're going to be a great father, Micha. Don't stress."

"I hope so, Levi. I hope so," he replied.

All will be okay, I told him.

"Thank you, Levi. I really appreciate it," Micha said.

"It's fine. That's what friends do. I'll get going now."

I returned to my car, drove back to the pack house, and took a bath. Tomorrow would be a big day—arranging everything for the incoming races. It was stressful, but at least help was coming. Now, I just had to sleep and face it all tomorrow.
