"Oh, man! What happened here? Where is the insertion point?" When Miles reached the dome where the insertion point was located, he was utterly shocked.
The insertion port was still there, and the Gadget he had stealthily inserted earlier was still attached. However, the green button used to shut down the collider, which should have been right next to the port, had vanished! The volatile particle streams were completely out of control, transforming the surrounding area into a bizarre space filled with dazzling, strange colors. All that remained was the small structure where the insertion port was located, floating amidst the chaos. Because of this, Miles was momentarily helpless!
However, he quickly noticed that several strange pieces of architecture were drifting in this bizarre space.
There were skyscrapers lying on their sides, several buildings growing together like branching trees, and even a suspended subway car floating in the distance!
"I get it!" Miles realized with sudden clarity. "The collider's particle flow has temporarily connected this world with others, and we are now in the seams of multiple universes. That means the objects that originally existed in this world must still be here! I can find the green button!"
Miles immediately launched himself into action, leaping and swinging through the surreal, fragmented architecture, looking left and right for that missing green button.
"You little bastard! What have you done to my machine!" Just as Miles landed on a floating structure, a booming voice rang out. Miles spun around and saw a towering figure, at least 2 meters tall, with an incredibly muscular physique, appear before him.
"Kingpin!" Miles was genuinely surprised. He hadn't seen Kingpin and had assumed the villain had retreated with his lieutenants. After all, the area was obviously extremely dangerous. Furthermore, his uncle had said Kingpin, despite his size, was just a normal human.
Miles, however, underestimated Kingpin's resolve and sheer audacity! Kingpin was single-mindedly obsessed with finding his wife and son in a parallel universe, willing to pay any price to do so! That was his resolve. As for audacity? As the undisputed crime lord of New York, Kingpin had no shortage of it!
Miles was still too young.
WHAM! Kingpin grabbed a stone pillar nearly as large as his own body and hurled it viciously at Miles. Miles quickly sidestepped, easily dodging the "trash toss" maneuver.
But this was merely a feint. Kingpin's true weapon was himself!
BOOM! Another thunderous sound. Kingpin slammed his massive feet on the ground and shot toward Miles like a cannonball fired from a barrel.
Miles realized Kingpin's true intent too late. Kingpin weighed 450 pounds (204 kilograms)! Charging at that speed, the impact was equivalent to being hit by a high-speed truck! An ordinary person would have been instantly turned into a bloody mess!
Fortunately, Miles's body had been enhanced. Though hit hard, the blow was not instantly fatal. But it wasn't over. Kingpin, with frightening speed, shot out his massive, fan-like hand and clamped it around Miles's throat. Using the forward momentum of the charge, he crouched slightly, grinding Miles into the floor.
SCREEECH— The floor was scored with a long, burning streak. If Miles wasn't wearing a suit made of high-molecular nanofiber—a material stronger than some alloy steels—his back would have been stripped raw!
Even so, Miles felt terrible. His internal organs churned violently, his entire body was intensely sore, and he suspected he had cracked several ribs. Kingpin's death grip on his throat severely restricted the flow of oxygen to his lungs. Dizziness and loss of strength set in due to hypoxia.
"Doesn't feel good fighting alone, does it, brat!" Kingpin roared furiously.
Just moments ago, Kingpin had seen the faint images of his wife and son through the collider's operation. They were moments away from crossing over from a parallel universe! But Miles inserted The Gadget!
The first segment of The Gadget's program reversed the function of the collider. The collider originally searched for matching genetic sequences in parallel worlds based on the input here and teleported the targets over. That's why when the deceased Spider-Man fought the Green Goblin and was shoved into the particle stream, it pulled in Spider-Man Noir, Gwen Stacy, and the others. The Gadget reversed this process, sending the foreign entities present in this world back to their respective universes. Only then would it activate the second segment, severing the connection to the liquid helium system to destroy the collider!
The first segment had already been initiated when Miles inserted The Gadget. The second segment required a person to press the green button.
But in that critical moment, just as the figures of Kingpin's wife and son appeared, Miles's action sent them back to their own worlds! This meant Kingpin had lost his family again! His rage was immeasurable.
Now, his intent to kill Miles had reached its absolute peak! Kingpin's hand was clamped tightly around Miles's neck, pinning him to the ground. His other hand was raised high. He was going to use the same fist that killed the first Spider-Man to kill the second! These annoying spiders all deserved to die!
ZZZT— "What was that sound?"
Kingpin heard a subtle electrical crackle. The next moment.
CRACKLE! Miles raised both hands and pressed them onto Kingpin's left arm. A torrent of blinding blue electricity surged out of Miles's body and violently coursed into Kingpin's physique!
"AARGH—" Kingpin screamed, his body violently blasted away by the force!
THUMP! His massive frame flew several meters and slammed hard onto the ground, shaking the entire platform.
"Kingpin!" Miles scrambled up with a kip-up, clenching his fists and roaring. He quickly charged toward Kingpin. Although the sudden burst allowed him to utilize the Venom Blast, the attack was rushed. He knew Kingpin wouldn't be defeated so easily. He needed to finish the job!
"You little spider-brat!" Kingpin recovered his senses after a stunned half-second, relying on his formidable physical conditioning. He immediately stood up, clenched his fist, and swung at Miles.
Miles's Spider-Sense screamed that he couldn't take this punch. Coincidentally, a subway car floated past behind him. Miles shot out a hand, activated his Wall-Crawling (bio-static) ability, and used the subway car as a moving foothold, quickly accelerating away.
