Chapter 103 - Chapter 103: victim

Hours later

No press release.

No PR cover.

Just a single post on Leng Xuanmo's verified Weibo account—a place usually reserved for business announcements and formal statements.

But this post was different.

*@LengXuanmoOfficial*

*I've wronged someone deeply. Not out of hatred, but out of blind loyalty and failure to seek the truth. Months ago, I helped destroy a family that had done nothing but help mine. Lu Jingyan was the one who bore the weight of that mistake.*

*I didn't ask questions. I didn't protect her. I judged her, punished her, humiliated her, and stood by as her world collapsed. I believed a lie, and by the time I uncovered the truth, she was gone.*

*I don't deserve her forgiveness. But the world deserves to know the truth. And she deserves peace.*

*Every success she has now, she built with her own hands. No one gave her a shortcut.*

*I will not deny my part in her fall. But from here on, I will do everything in my power to lift the weight I helped place on her shoulders — even if she never looks my way again.*

The post went viral within minutes.

It was the first time Leng Xuanmo, the cold, untouchable president of Leng Conglomerate, had publicly admitted to personal wrongdoing. And it was about *Lu Jingyan*, the very same woman whose name had been twisted in controversy for months.

#"Wait. What?? He's admitting *he* was the reason her family fell???"#

#"So all this time… she wasn't the gold-digger trying to climb back. She was the victim??"#

#"How can someone in his position write something this raw? Respect for owning up, but damn."#

#"Apologizing is one thing. But what he did destroyed her life. I don't know how to feel."

# "Lu Jingyan really rose from ashes. No PR team, no sponsor. Just fire and grit."#

#"I hope she never goes back to him. Let her stay the queen she is now."#

#"Now I understand why she looked so cold at that photoshoot. She's been carrying the weight of betrayal and survival."#

The reactions weren't all kind.

Some called it a PR stunt.

Some accused him of only posting it now because she was rising.

But most… most were stunned. Speechless. Realizing they had judged her wrong.

At the Mo Residence, the air was quiet.

Lu Jingyan sat in the living room, her phone in hand. The notification had popped up hours ago. But it took her time to bring herself to read the post.

And now that she had, she sat frozen.

Mei Xiaotong entered first, followed by Hua Shu.

"You saw it?" Xiaotong asked softly.

She nodded.

Hua Shu sighed. "It's about time he said something."

Lu Jingyan looked up. Her voice was calm, but something flickered in her eyes. "He didn't lie."

"No, he didn't," Mei Xiaotong said. "But he's not asking for forgiveness either. He knows better."

"He always does," Jingyan replied, setting the phone down on the coffee table. "Too late, too clean. He got to control the ending."

"You think this is the end?" Hua Shu asked gently.

Jingyan looked out the window. "No. I think it's the beginning of something he's not ready for."

In the corporate world, Leng Conglomerate's board had mixed reactions.

But Leng Xuanmo didn't care.

He stared at the ceiling of his office long after the post went live. His phone buzzed constantly — colleagues, family, investors, friends.

But he only waited for one.

A message. A call. A response from her.

It never came.

Still, he didn't regret it.

He hadn't written it for sympathy. He hadn't written it for redemption.

He wrote it because she deserved to be cleared, even if it made him the villain.

And now, the world finally knew:

Lu Jingyan didn't need a man to rise.

But the man who once broke her… would now spend his life lifting the truth she never asked for, but always deserved.
