Chapter 66 - Chapter 66: bone chilling

*Northern Myanmar – Outskirts of Kyaukme | Midnight*

The jungle was thick, breathing with the weight of humidity and the distant growl of wild dogs. A black SUV rolled to a quiet stop beneath a canopy of trees, headlights dimmed.

Inside, Leng Shiyan adjusted the leather gloves on his hands, gaze sharp through the tinted window.

"He's here?" he asked. Looking around the area

Mo Tianyi nodded, flicking his laptop screen toward him. "Thermal scan shows two heat signatures in the cold storage bunker. The main one matches Obsidian's build. The second is unknown, possibly a lookout."

"To deceive us?" Leng Shiyan asked

"Probably" Mo Tianyi said

Leng Shiyan cracked his neck. "Good. We're not leaving without answers."

Outside, the bunker loomed in silence half-buried beneath stone, vines crawling across rusted vents. Meihua Logistics signage was faded but still visible beneath the dirt.

"I'll jam the comms and security feeds," Tianyi said, already typing into his custom device. "You've got five minutes before the backup generator kicks in."

Leng Shiyan smirked. "Five? I only need two." he said as he stepped oit if the car as the annoying smirk got plastered on his face as he walked in

The door creaked open under his force, and the hallway beyond reeked of mold and metal. Shadows shifted. Then a footstep.

Obsidian appeared from the left corridor, tall and masked, a blade glinting in hand. "I wondered who'd come. Figured it would be him. Leng Xuanmo himself."

"Awwn. You got his cousin instead," Shiyan said coolly with a grin plastered on his face, pulling a matte-black pistol from his side. "Lucky you."

Obsidian lunged.

The fight was brutal more brawler than assassin. Steel clanged. Shiyan's fist collided with Obsidian's ribs, while the man countered with a blade swipe that tore across Shiyan's coat. Blood stained the edge, but Shiyan didn't flinch

"Ouch" he said playful like he's having fun.

With a final blow, Shiyan slammed him against the bunker wall, gun pressed to his temple.

"Talk," he hissed. "Who ordered the fall of the Lu family?"

Obsidian laughed under his breath. "You're too late… The real shadow hasn't even stepped into the light yet. Why are you so eager?"

Mo Tianyi entered then, gun drawn. "You'll tell us everything. Or I'll let Shiyan ask again less politely."

Obsidian's silence was answer enough.

Shiyan's voice dropped low. "Let's bring him back. Xuanmo will want him alive… for now."

As they dragged Obsidian out under the moonlight, Shiyan muttered, "The game just got deeper."

"Why take me to him?" Obsidian asked. Both stop in their tracks

"Is he really the boss? Or he doesn't want anyone to find the things about him?"

"Things about him?" Mo Tianyi asked as obsidian laughed. A bone chilling one

"What? Don't you want to know the truth yourself?" He asked

"The truth? The one eager to know more than anyone is me. Why? The one you messed with is me"

"Am I the one who messed with you? Or some else?" Obsidian asked smiling

"Tianyi? I think we should hear the truth before taking him back" Leng Shiyan said

"Alright" Mo Tianyi said as his gaze turn cold
