The Raven Legion stood frozen, 884 soldiers forming the dark, silent crescent of the Obsidian Phalanx. They faced the walls of Pravum, poised for war. Corvin Nyx was at the absolute forefront, his entire being a nexus of destructive focus. His unbridled dark rage was no longer contained; the internal pressure that had defined his life was about to be unleashed without his restraint.
A top the walls of Pravum the city guard is seen to be scrambling to the walls with a feeling of dread that seem to spread like a virus. The skies above thundered and rolled hearkening the arrival of the Raven Legion. The city guard as they began to station on the walls looked down upon their formation seeing a small force of almost nine hundred and almost laughed at their numbers. They did not see siege weapons, or even ladders. Yet what they did see was a disciplined formation of of full obsidian plate that radiated a dread, others with longbows and dark leathers. They saw an elite force, the two commanders in front, Garrus and Veridian let off a even more dense aura of dread.
When they looked at Corvin, they couldn't stare for more than a few second, the feeling of dread that seemed to roll off of him was permeating. Obsidian seemed to shimmer across him making him seem an enigma. It was then the skies cracked with lightning as if signaling the start of annihilation.
Garrus: Archers ready your bows! Show them while they can't reach you they are not safe from our reach!
Every archer in formation immediately knocked, drawing their bows back they held an immense draw weight. Their backs and arms filled with cords of practiced muscle drawing it back.
Garrus: Fire! And repeat as one!
The archers all let their bows snap forward releasing arrows of sharp jagged obsidian shards. The city guard not believing the arrows would even reach them stood watch expecting failure. Yet all ones behind the guards on the very front of the battlements heard was arrows hitting armor and flesh dropping the city guards that were hit immediately. The arrows themselves began to emit the dread aura a top the walls.
Garrus: Cease fire!
Corvin channeled his fury, the memory of his mother's rape, his father's suicide, and the current agony of the woman that was current captive, not through his mind, but through his very Shadow Heart. The result was immediate and terrifying. The pervasive Obsidian Ordo surrounding the Legion intensified, causing the clouds above Pravum to swirl into a chaotic, dark vortex. The air itself grew dense and cold.
Corvin: TODAY THE ROT IS CUT OUT AND BURNED! TODAY YOUR CORRUPTION IS PURGED!
Corvin began his transformation, a sheath of raw obsidian magic burst forward covering him and forming armor of pure obsidian, flexible and hard. Radiating a dark intensity. His eyes flared with fury and awesome magical might, retribution.
He moved, the Unkindness now unleashed upon the walled defenders. The guard blinded by the ravens and paralyzed by the Dread Aura of the Obsidian Ordo, barely registered the dark blur sprinting towards their walls. Corvin ran with an unmeasured and ruinous fury straight towards the gates. He did not slow, he did not stop but only sped forward every faster. The guard that were able to loose arrows towards him only saw the arrows bounce of his temporary obsidian armor. Upon reaching the very gates, Corvin gathered the entirety of his rage, his physical might and his obsidian magic. Just as his body started to crash into the gate he released for the first time his restrained might and fury, tearing the massive gate from its mooring and hurled the immense fragments forward like toys.
As this happened the Legion was marching forward, and archers burying their arrows into the defenders. The second the gates were breached, a massive opening into the city.
Garrus: Breach! Annihilation!
Garrus drawing his gladius being the first to charge forward leading the rest of the legion into the gap along with Veridian for the leaders of the Imperium led from the front. The Obsidian Phalanx poured through the gates, their obsidian gladius cutting through iron armor and flesh like it wasn't there to begin with. Every taskmaster, every official and every city guard was to be cut down without mercy.
Corvin himself leading from the front of the formation smashing through stone barricades and cutting down any guard who got in his way with an Obsidian spear summoned with his magic. As the legionaries cut their way through and climbing the steps of the walls and systematically slaughtering every last guard. The Legion archers also rushed in under their captains orders and stationed themselves on top the walls so they could cover their comrades and take out anyone who dared show their backs.
Corvin's goal was to drive straight to the city center where the house of the official who held that woman in chains. His legion's goal was to slaughter all who contributed to the rot and free any slave in the city. The ravens continued to attacks any guards, take their eyes, ears stabbing into their faces. They deserved no mercy, no quick deaths.
Corvin reached the officials private home entrusting the rest to Garrus and Veridian, Corvin tore the door offs its hinges throwing it into a near by building. His steps measured stride, two personal guards found on the first floor. Corvin slaughtering them in a instant their stomachs releasing intestines from the slashes. Corvin found the doors the basement casually ripping it off and tossing it, he could smell it. The rot, the depravity, the corruption. The skies grew darker, and colder in response to his building fury.
As Corvin took the final step into the basement what he saw through his ravens did not even come close to what he saw in person with his own eyes. Catching this grotesque official in the middle of repeating these acts immediately triggered Corvin's memories. His rage burning almost uncontrolled, he was upon him in almost a instant grabbing him by the neck and throwing him into a wall. Bones could be heard snapping, Corvin not wanting to give him a slow death allowed his obsidian magic to form chains bounding his wrist and ankles to the floor. Corvin immediately went to the woman chained up to two stone pillars in the middle of the floor, breaking the chains off the pillars with his very hands. Corvin caught her in his arms wrapping her up, as she was to weak to stand. It reminded him of his mother and every other enslaved women he saw in the pit. Lifting her up and wrapping her in his own cloak to cover her naked and abused body, he also willed the obsidian chains around the official to lift off the ground and follow him outside. Already Garrus and some legionnaires stood outside not wanting to interrupt their Lord.
Corvin commanding Garrus to find a dark place to jail the official so he could visit him later, as he had grand plans to enact upon him. Corvin with a few legionaries went to one of the inns that were located away from one of the halls so he could find a place for her to rest and hopefully stabilize her.
