*On a normal afternoon, Maria was outside playing with her neighbors children at the right side of her parents' house compound. Including the triplets and a few other kids from other towns, who came to visit her. when suddenly, a boy spoke.
'Maria, your eyes are burning.'he said innocently.'
m.a." What do you mean?' she replied while still looking down, distracted by the butterfly sand art she was making.'
' Erh, look. you can use the water to wash your eyes.' Another boy said, while pointing at a bowl of water on the table where the gardening equipment's were.'
m.a." What did you say?' she asked as she looked up at the boy who spoke to her earlier.'
'Are you okay? one of the triplets asked.'
* The triplets were the future meanies.
their names were , 'Franklen Geazel, Hazel, and Eniezel.'
Geazel was the one who was concerned for Maria.*
Maria's parents were upstairs watching their daughter closely. they were paranoid and anxious, leaving Maria to play with other children because they didn't want her to hurt anyone, knowing she couldn't control her abilities.
m." Darling, she seems to be enjoying herself, isn't that right?' she said while she nudged her husband gently.'
mr.h." Yes. but I hope her abilities stay hidden and not pop out, especially since our neighbors are noticing some weird actions due to us watching over her excessively.
m." Oh my GOD. I'm not comfortable with letting her play with other children.' she said with a worried expression on her face.
mr.h." Sigh. let us hope she lives a happy life, even when we are not around her.
m." Hmm,' she noded in agreement.'
My little girl is growing up.
They were still discussing when one of their neighbors,' Mrs philip's ', called out to them.
m.p.' Mr and Mrs Jornas?' she called.'
Come join us for a cup of tea.' she yelled excitedly from inside the jornas garden.
m." We should join them.
mr.h." Hmm.
They entered the garden and saw their neighbors chatting excitedly.
' Oh my, they are here.' A woman dressed in a pink attire spoke. she was their next-door neighbor.'
'What took you so long.' The woman's husband asked.'
mr.h." Ha ha , we were just discussing a trivial matter.
' Oh, but I thought you were watching Maria like you always do.
Let the girl breathe peacefully.
'Say, why do you always watch her closely?' their other next-door neighbor said.'
' Why, yes. another neighbor spoke.'
Mr. and Mrs.jornas gave each other an awkward side glance.
m." OH. well, there's no reason. we are just very protective parents. right?'she said as she nudged her husband, who was beside her.'
mr.h." Ah, yes. common, let's have some tea.
' There's fire in your eyes.
m.a." Fire?' she asked, confused.'
'Check your reflection in the bowl of water on the table.'The little boy repeated himself.
Maria quickly ran to the table to check her reflection. she saw her reflection and gasped.
She called out to her parents as she walked into her house while rubbing her teary eyes.
Her parents quickly went to her side and attended to her, taking her to her room to calm her down.
m." It's okay,' her mother said.'but the fire only increased.
mr.h." Hey Marri.' he said while stroking her hair.
look at me, it's dad.'Maria looked up with teary eyes at her parents.'
* Mari was the nickname her father gave to her, whenever he calls her to calm her down.*
m." You're alright.'her mother said as she giggled. This remark made the fire extinguish.
Come here.' she continued as she put her child on her lap.
But Maria was well aware she wasn't like other children.
After a few minutes, she calmed down and fell asleep.
Maria's parents had explained to the other children that it was just an eye condition, and even though the children didn't understand, they believed. Their parents didn't know what actually happened. They thought Maria had just had a little eye pain.
But one particular boy named 'Detron fauls' knew Maria wasn't like the rest of them.
' I'll find out what you are. That's what detectives do.' he said to himself with a determined face.
* That might have seemed like a little boy's bluffing words, but is it ?*
later that day, Maria woke up, rubbing her eyes to clear the sleep off. She called for her parents, but there was no response.
What do you think a little girl who thinks she's a monster would do when she calls to her parents and no response.
As the feeling of being abandoned engulfed her, she began to panic as she called her parents again and still received no response.
Tears rolled down her cheeks as she searched the entire house and didn't find her parents.
Going outside her house, she called again, but there was no response again.
Maria's parents arrived from their short outing to the cloth store.
Suddenly, a heavy breeze swept across them, sending chills down their body, causing them to look around nervously.
m." Is it going to rain?
mr.h." It seems so.
m." Oh, I will go and make hot soup.'she said with a warm smile.'
As they proceeded more into their compound, Mr. Henry noticed something unusual.
The wind was getting stronger, strong enough to sweep them off their feet. he stopped, noticing the wind was coming from the back of their home. as the weather began to change, the breeze became stronger as if preparing for a very dangerous hurricane.
His wife, not aware, asked,
m." What's wrong?
mr.h." The wind is coming from the backyard, and it's getting stronger.' he replied.
Deciding to check it out, he walked towards the backyard and to his shocking surprise! His daughter, Maria, was up in the air. she was inside a large hurricane crying and hugging her legs together. she didn't even realize she was up in the air in a brutal storm.
m.a." no no no no no no no !!!!' she murmured under her breath as she sobbed.
mr.h." Maartha!' he yelled,'
Please come quickly.
As Martha got to where her husband was, the wind almost swept her off her feet.
The wind increased, blowing everything at the backyard away. it got tougher to stand upright. any imbalance meant being blown away.
m." What's happening?!
Mr.h." It's Maria, she's in the t..
o...r..tornado.' he yelled, but she could hardly hear him due to the strong wind.'
She's devastated.'he struggled to say as he used his arm to block the wind.'
m." Oh my goodness! Marrriaaa! can you hear me?' she shouted on top of her voice.'
My chiiild!!' she shouted once again, and this time, Maria looked down at her parents with tears in her eyes, and an expression that shows.... sadness.'
m.a." It's all in my imagination. They have left me! "she panicked while closing her eyes shut as she held her hair tightly. she panicked even more.'
m." we are here, Maria.' Her mother knew she thought they had left her because Maria had asked her parents about it in the past.'
m.a." No!. you're not real!
mr.h." Marri, we here, please calm down.' Her father said, in a calm and cool voice.'
m.a." No!no!no! I'm a monsteeeerr!!!!!"she shouted on top of her lungs."
m." Darling, please calm down!
mr.h." Yes! you are perfect just the way you are. you are not! a monster!
But Maria only got more upset. she thought it was her own imagination, thinking her parents weren't there, that they had left her.
The tornado continued growing more gigantic! causing their house to destroy completely, instantly. seeing her house destroyed, only disheartened her more.
Her parents were blown away far from her. They were so far that no matter how many times they shouted, she couldn't hear them.
* Even if she did, she thought they were both in her imagination.*
The neighbors thought it was a hurricane, so they all stayed in their homes, no one dearing to look outside the window to check what was happening. luckily the tornado was high up in the air, so it didn't damage the neighbors houses, but Maria's house was caught up in the hurricane, as it was moving up in the air, moment's before it became more dangerous.
Her parents were worried and devastated. They couldn't reach where she was to calm her down.
Her mother struggled to where her father was. holding his hand tightly, she looked straight into his eyes.
m." Let's call her together. She w..wi...will, she will listen to us.' she struggled to say because of the strong wind.
I just know it.' He gave her a weak nod as he fought back the tears in his eyes. he didn't want to weigh his wife with his emotions.*
