The mighty ruler of the land, with the entire continent as its domain and volcanoes as its playground, wouldn't tolerate interference from others. Without hesitation, it unleashed a powerful attack, a mighty cliff-breaking strike.
As expected, without completing its primal reversion, it found itself slightly disadvantaged. The most memorable aspect for it was the power of Dialga to rewind time. Several times it attempted to force a primal reversion, only to be thwarted at the crucial moment.
This frustrating battle left a lasting impression, and only a powerful cliff-breaking strike finally freed it from its chains. From then on, it remembered this troublesome opponent. Unexpectedly, today it encountered a similar situation.
It turned out that the energy fluctuations during its battle with Kyogre had suddenly vanished, repaired by the power of time. No wonder the fight had lasted so long without Rayquaza showing up—it seemed to have been blocked outside this peculiar space. The entire area was eerily silent, with not a living soul in sight. Who on earth had set up this trap?
"Are you okay?" Groudon called out to Kyogre. In this situation, even old rivals had to team up.
"I can't move; the surrounding space is locked," Kyogre replied with its back turned.
"Can't move?" Groudon's expression grew serious as it slowly approached Kyogre.
"It's definitely Palkia's doing! No one else could trap me like this," Kyogre asserted confidently. Although many mythical creatures could manipulate space, like Giratina and Hoopa, or even Mew with its time-space powers, only Palkia could achieve this level of control. Since the world's fusion, its strength had increased, possibly even mastering new techniques.
"You're right. When I was teleported back earlier, it felt like Dialga's handiwork," Groudon said, now close to Kyogre.
"Why are the time-space deities targeting us?" Kyogre couldn't fathom. It didn't recall offending them, so why the elaborate trap? Was Giratina perhaps targeting Rayquaza, using them as pawns? If that were the case, why not just say so?
Officially, Kyogre and Groudon were allies of Rayquaza, but if anyone wanted to take on Rayquaza, Kyogre would be the first to volunteer!
"Dialga! Palkia! Come out and talk!" Kyogre suddenly shouted. "If you want to deal with Rayquaza, I can lead the charge! Giratina, are you there?"
Its voice echoed in the vast space, yet no one responded.
High above, Rayquaza suddenly sneezed, a small action that would trigger a massive storm days later across the country. Puzzled, it wondered why the two hadn't begun fighting yet. Had the world's fusion mellowed them?
Mew couldn't help but laugh. Kyogre, this oblivious creature, actually believed Palkia and Dialga were behind this. Even more absurd, it suspected Giratina of plotting against Rayquaza. What a peculiar thought process.
Carl shook his head in exasperation. Serena curiously asked, "What did Kyogre say, Carl?"
"Utterly ridiculous." Carl relayed Kyogre's words.
The four girls were stunned. Serena couldn't believe it: "Really?" Sabrina frowned, "I didn't foresee this in the future." Caitlin looked disdainful, "That's incredibly rude." Lillie pouted, "These mythical creatures are better as collectibles."
Groudon stood proudly by the river, watching Kyogre trapped by stone pillars, unable to escape.
Its laughter echoed around them.
Kyogre, only its head visible, glared angrily, "What happened to teamwork? Trusting you again would make me a fool!"
The mighty ruler of the sea was now immobilized, infuriated as Groudon began pelting it with skills.
Mud, rocks, and smoke bombarded its head. Though not painful, it was utterly humiliating. Kyogre had never felt so frustrated in its life.
"Release me now!" it roared, "Or I'll flood all the coastal cities!"
Groudon ignored it, landing another heavy punch on its face.
Finally, Kyogre reached its breaking point. Energy surged within it. If visible, one would see blue patterns glowing on its body.
The sky suddenly filled with dark clouds, and the river churned, channeling ocean energy to it. It was preparing to get serious—the divine domain was about to be unleashed.
High above, Rayquaza immediately sensed the change, its once sleepy eyes now wide awake. As the sky's guardian, it couldn't miss any fluctuation in natural energy.
Just as Kyogre was releasing its divine domain, preparing for primal reversion, Rayquaza sensed the anomaly.
Previously holding back, now suddenly ready to act? As Rayquaza pondered, it swiftly gathered flying-type energy. The more these two mythical creatures stirred up trouble, the more it wanted to teach them a lesson.
In the nearby forest, Zygarde suddenly opened its eyes wide: finally, some activity! As the deity maintaining ecological balance, it was particularly sensitive to oceanic power fluctuations.
Earlier, it had been slightly worried. Kyogre and Groudon had followed the plan to the area, only to vanish without a trace. No matter how hard it searched, it couldn't sense them, nor had Rayquaza appeared.
Now that Kyogre's power resurfaced, it suggested the divine domain could breach that mysterious barrier. But within seconds, Zygarde's expression changed: how could this be? Kyogre's power vanished entirely, without any transition.
Was it a voluntary withdrawal, or...? Unease crept into Zygarde's heart.
High above, Rayquaza was also baffled. Kyogre withdrawing its domain at such a crucial moment was out of character. Even stranger, Groudon remained inactive.
This made me look foolish, Rayquaza thought, staring at the energy it had amassed, itching to release it.
Just then, it sensed the presence of the Buried Tower secret realm.
This high tower, built by the Meteorite Clan, had transformed into a unique summoning site. Rayquaza had only visited once before, but now it decided to check it out.
It quickly adjusted its course, descending rapidly.
Meanwhile, Carl was effortlessly suppressing Kyogre's divine domain. On his turf, he wouldn't allow such a high-level battle to erupt.
"Let's go," he said, leading his four companions to personally negotiate with Groudon and Kyogre.
Kyogre was shocked, and Groudon halted its attack. They realized that not even Dialga and Palkia could easily suppress their divine domains.
"Palkia, if you have the guts, come and fight!" Kyogre called out.
"Let me show you my power!" Groudon roared, unleashing a massive flame that engulfed Kyogre in an instant.
However, the flames quickly dissipated, leaving Kyogre untouched. It finally dawned on them that their plan had been uncovered.
