Chapter 24 - The CEO

One late afternoon at the office, the conference room was half empty by the time Mina worked up the courage to speak. Most of the team had already packed up, their laughter fading down the hall. The only ones left were Isaac, scanning a file in silence, and Mina, who kept glancing at the door, then at him, then at her trembling hands.

"Sir," she began, voice careful, but firm. He didn't look up. "Yes, Miss Kang?"

She swallowed. "About the supplier proposal earlier… you said we'd drop the small local partner and go with the international vendor."

"That's correct." His tone was even, but it carried that sort of 'It's done' vibes, the kind that usually made people stop talking.

But Mina didn't. "I just think that maybe we should reconsider. The local supplier has been consistent for years, and..."

Isaac's eyes lifted from the paper. Sharp, assessing. "Consistency doesn't equal performance."
