Chapter 580 - Chapter 1421: Farewell

Adnan Petrosian is a middle-aged man in his sixties with gray hair on his temples. Although Jack doesn't want to admit it, his light golden hair is exactly the same as little Lila's.

The middle-aged woman sitting next to him is his wife Nikona. She might have been a beauty when she was young, but the years have left not only wrinkles on her face, but also bitterness and malice.

"Get out!" Jack said to the middle-aged lawyer who was whispering with two people.

"Who are you? My client has rights." The lawyer's face was full of anger and he protested loudly.

"Your client is suspected of hiring a killer to murder two FBI agents, one of whom just left the ICU. They also murdered an innocent woman with the intention of kidnapping her baby.

So you can contact your law firm now and ask them to send a team of lawyers. This is a big deal."

Jack's words made the middle-aged lawyer look stunned but also a little excited. As the saying goes, the higher the wind and waves, the more expensive the fish, and the bigger the case, the more money you make.

Besides, this kind of case isn't just about the profit. The Petrosian family is prominent in New York, and with the FBI involved, the attention it would garner once the news got out was almost foreseeable.

A loss like this would be a win, a major case that would bring instant fame.

Of course, leaving wasn't an option. The lawyer wasn't stupid, and he immediately pulled out his phone.

"Nonsense!" Adnan Petrosian erupted in fury as the lawyer furiously typed a message.

"I don't care who you are, but even the FBI can't slander a Petrosian. This isn't the Hoover era."

Jack stepped forward, clearing the doorway he'd blocked. Taylor appeared behind him, holding little Lila.

Upon seeing Lila, both husband and wife's expressions changed dramatically.

For some reason, perhaps because of the tense atmosphere in the room, or perhaps because she'd been startled by Jack's kick on the door, Lila burst into tears upon seeing the couple.

"You had an affair with Claudia Cruz, right? You knew she was pregnant, so you made her quit her job ten months ago and rented her an apartment in Brooklyn.

You bribed the clinic's doctor, Adrian, and gave the clinic an extra donation, forcing Claudia to abandon you and her daughter, Lila, after she gave birth."

Jack slammed the testimonies and printed photos, which still reeked of ink, onto the table.

Adnan's face flickered between blue and red, and after a long moment, he nodded with difficulty. "Yes, but Claudia died in a fire accident. I don't know where your string of accusations just now came from, and why would I kidnap my own child!"

Jack snorted coldly, nodding his gaze at the nervous Nikola, Adnan's wife of nearly 30 years.

"I think this question should be answered by Mrs. Petrosian, am I right? Your fingerprints were found on Claudia's murder weapon, and you hired those two Romanian mafia thugs, right?"

"Nikona, what did you do?" Adnan looked at his wife in disbelief.

Sensing the situation was amiss, the lawyer quickly interjected, "Mrs. Petrosian, you have the right to remain silent."

"Get out!" Adnan shouted at him.

The lawyer was humiliated and humiliated as she was humiliated. Facing her husband's furious gaze, Nikona Petrosian, knowing her fate was lost, remained much calmer.

"Someone has to help clean up the mess you've made, right? This family, everything, should belong to my son, not just be handed over to some illegitimate daughter who appears out of nowhere."

The woman stared intently at little Lila in Taylor's arms, her eyes filled with resentment.

Seeing her reckless admission of everything, Jack breathed a sigh of relief. Although he still had to go to court, this confession was crucial.

Although Nikola claimed she accidentally injured Claudia during the argument after learning she'd broken her promise and demanded her daughter back, she'd arranged to set the scene and destroyed the body by setting it on fire.

However, the soot in Claudia's trachea and lungs proved she was merely unconscious, not dead, and therefore a first-degree murder charge was inevitable.

While New York State doesn't have the death penalty, prosecutors could easily sentence her to life imprisonment if they tried.

Even if Adnan, out of consideration for their long-standing relationship, spared her, she'd be an elderly woman by the time she was released.

After calling Danny to take Nikola to the detention center, Jack drove with Tyler and Lila to Scranton, Pennsylvania, bringing along Finch and Reese.

While he was responsible for the subsequent rescue, it was the "POI" duo who initially saved Lila, so having them involved in the final cleanup would provide a sense of continuity.

It was late at night when they arrived at their destination. Little Lila had been sleeping and waking up all the way, completely unaware of the bizarre nature of her past two days.

Claudia's parents, the Cruzes, had been waiting at the door, their tears of joy mingling with laughter upon seeing their granddaughter.

Little Lila danced in the baby basket carried by Finch, giggling unfazed at the onlookers.

Interestingly, Jack had hardly heard the little baby cry, aside from diaper changes and formula. The only time was when they met the Petrosian family, which was quite remarkable.

Taylor, watching from the side of the car, couldn't help but sigh, "It's strange to say this, but I still want to say that this child is truly blessed to have met you."

"Girls who smile a lot are usually lucky,"

Jack said, striding forward and, taking the opportunity to shake hands, applying a long-lasting healing buff to each of the Cruzes.

Taking care of children is a very tiring task. Although the couple are only in their early 50s, Jack still hopes that they can live a few more years in good health and accompany little Lila to grow up safely.

Reese gently rubbed little Lila's chubby cheek with the back of his hand and whispered, "Goodbye, Lila."

"It's a wonderful thing to have a child, don't you think, Reese?" Jack nudged him with his elbow.

"It's not the time yet, but there may be a day when there will be not just one, but preferably a group." Reese still had a stern face, but there was a rare tenderness in his voice.

Finch sighed a little inappropriately, "The trouble with having a child is that you don't know what kind of person he will become when he grows up."

Jack raised his eyebrows slightly and asked in a low voice that Taylor couldn't hear from where he was standing, "Are you referring to the 'machine' baby you created?"
